I stayed at Eden Motel in Nyaung U and rented a bicycle for 1500 kyats to explore the Bagan Archaeological Zone. The Old Bagan area has the most pagodas and stupas and stretches for a distance of 6 km from Shwezigon Pagoda right to the Bagan Archaeological Museum. The pagodas and stupas are sporadically located along the two main roads:... More

I came here for the sun rise, two mornings in a row. I've been to some beautiful places in the last few years, but the photos I took here take the second spot in my list of places, losing only to the Northern Lights in Norway. That explains why I came here again the second morning. As you can see... More

Aparts from many famous temples, Bulethi is a place you can watch the sunrise and baloons in a near distance. It was a pity that I could not know about it earlier until the last day I was in Bagan. In the opposite site, there is a temple that looks like Bulethi and you can take picture from each other... More

E-biked here through the sandy path during midday while the sun was at its full strength. There were only two other tourists visiting Bulethi when I arrived, but left while I was going up the temple. So I was the only sole person at the temple. I guess this temple is the go to spot for sunrises and sunsets. However,... More

It's a great temple with great views, just too busy for my taste for sunset. It gets too crowded and takes away from the nice feeling amongst all the temples.

Apart from seeing the sunrise, this is also the place where you can see the hot air balloons rising with the sun, adding character to your early morning visit! Do come early to get a spot on the higher parts of the pagoda. Going higher is also more dangerous as the only places to sit are on the steps. Otherwise,... More

I like this one for sunset but it was just too steep that I was scared to look down. Not much spaces to sit and stand. This place is also a popular one so many people will get here.

An amazing and charming location. It now undergoes renovation so not all spots are accessible for tourists. Nevertheless, worth visiting when staying in Bagan.

this is a large in intricate temple. It still has worshippers visiting and if you have the time it is worth it to visit!

We were there late and had to settle for a spot backfacing the sunset. Go early to avoid disappointment. We e-biked from new bagan-airport highway via sulemani pagoda...the sandy roads weren't easy to ride on. One fellow tourists fell off her bike in the soft uneven sandy path!
