They do not pressurise you into buying and are happy to share the working of the place.Written October 8, 2019
- Sarah84480179 contributionsFascinatingIt is quite extraordinary to see the amount of work that goes into making lacquerware. The quality is dependent on the amount of lacquer layers and this is a place where the genuine Burmese Lacquerware is made. Not like the cheap Chinese items you see in other gift shops and markets. The shop next to the factory is wonderful. They have the main shop with thinner lacquerware and a hidden shop with the more expensive items. Well worth a visit. For the amount of time and labour that goes into each piece I did not find it overly expensive.Traveled with familyWritten July 24, 2017

After an interesting visit to the "high quality" workshop with our private guide, we were ushered to the shop. To be nice, i opted to get two lacquer bangles.
I later discovered that was sold with a defect. The next day that same bangle had a serious scratch. We were told that the lacquerware in that workshop is made to last forever. Beware.

I had never been to a lacquerware workshop earlier and the craftsmanship and the end products were so impressive. Every piece made there was precious. Hats off to the art and craftsmanship.

Just to see how Lacquerware is produced would be enough. To visit the salesroom and especially the airconditioned "fixed price" area is just superb. I thought that for the time and expertise involved the p[rices were more than acceptable.
One can only appreciate the skill and patience of the craftspeople involved.
A real treasure.

Here you can view the many different processes of making lacquerware products. It makes you appreciate the price for these products.
It nice to see local handmade products versus the cheap Chinese stuff you find on some of the markets.
