A Swift Ferry Ride

I got tired wandering around George Town so I decided to go on the other side and to see the sunset over Penang Island. I hopped on the ferry and I was surprised to see cars and... read more

This is a great service. Only takes about 15 mins to get to Penang from Georgetown and it's free! However if you use the ferry from Penang to Georgetown you pay rm 1.20 It saves time and money over using taxis. Note, if you planning to take a train from Penang station, there is no cafe/shop, facilities at all, except... More

this ferry is easy found on the penang side, took a bit of tome to find our way on butterworth side. its well worth the ride, even if just ride there & back just for the experience. good photo opportunities. dont miss the boat!

Ferry is good to go. Can see beautiful landscape in night, free riding from penang to Butterworth and even if you driving your car, you can get your car ,free riding ferry to mainland.

If you are nearby butterworth, Penang Ferry could be very good choice to Penang, the pay shall be in cash only. When peak hour, still very crowded. Recommend for those staying nearby with destination in Penang already not far from Ferry. When good weather could be nice view, but sometime with haze, may make you unhappy

We can go to penang island by ferry from this ferry terminal. centralized with bus station. the bad thing is you will wait the ferry docked until they dispatched for about 25 minutes. and you only take 15 minutes to arrive in Penang island.

Great alternative when you can opt for several transportation services! Old ferry I could tell, wish it could be painted new and give some clean look!

I got tired wandering around George Town so I decided to go on the other side and to see the sunset over Penang Island. I hopped on the ferry and I was surprised to see cars and motorbikes parked inside yet no seat for humans. I was also looking for the ticket booth but the ticket system was different, there's... It was a different driving experience; when we took our Land Rover onto the Ferry from Butterworth to Georgetown. We parked our vehicle; got off, walk around and took many pictures; where else we notice most local just sat in their vehicle! It was a fun and cheap way to travel; as it only cost us RM 7.70 and the... More

The last time my family and I went there we waited for almost an hour for the Ferry. Turns out to be, there are only one Ferry working at that point of time. I remembered, there are at least three Ferry working when I traveled there during my childhood. We had senior citizens and toddlers with us and are definitely... More
