My friends and I hiked Ijen Crater with guide Hasyim to see the blue flames. We were met by Hasyim and driver John at the train station and taken to a nice local Javan restaurant for lunch. Hasyim showed us around rice fields and a coffee/rubber plantation and explained how the crops are planted and processed. He was a very knowledgable guide about local life and about Ijen and the sulfur mining activities. We stayed with him and his family in the village and had a lovely home cooked dinner. The hiking started at 2am. We were lucky with the weather, and despite a lot of smoke were able to see the lake when the sun rose. Hasyim was good about advising us where it was safe to walk and when to put the masks. We were able to see the blue flames, the lake, and miners collecting and carrying sulfur. We enjoyed the tour; it was nice to have all of the logistics and safety equipment arranged in advance. Hasyim gave us a lot of good info about the sulfur mining process and local area.

We did this tour with Hasyam. It was amazing Hasyam know this area. The first day we discover a lot stuff like rice culture, coffee plantation, water full and learnt a lot! The second day we waked up very early to see a blue fire. It was very nice and the guide explained us everything. It was very interesting and wonderful! With Hasyam we don't feel like a customer but more like a family.

+1
We had such an amazing experience!! We had a homestay with Sammy and his wife Maria and daughter Jasmine. They were so welcoming and treated us like family!! When we first arrived we spent time with the family and explored the local village. Sammy was an amazing tour guide. He climbed a coconut tree to get us coconuts and built a fire to cook us the vegetables we picked ourselves! We swam in the water in the rain and had an absolute blast! We then helped Maria cook dinner and had a lovely evening eating together. We had an early night and were up early for the Ijen Crater hike. Sammy took great care of us and always made sure we were happy and safe. His energy is amazing and we had the BEST time!! Highly recommend this company and Sammy as a guide! Thank you so much for everything!
