Rajegwesi is an emerging responsible tourism destination. The majority of local people earn their living from subsistent fishing. The Meru Betiri National Park Authority to develop this area as a pleasant tourism destination.
The local people set up 5 homestays in the village. You are more than welcome to stop over, say hello and use the toilet. If you're going to Sukamade (turtle) beach, please ask your tour operator about any opportunities to experience or to improve tourism in this village. In doing so, you're one of the responsible travellers in the world.

It is located in the Sarongan village, subdistrict of Pesanggaran. This beach is a kind of the natural beach, because not many visitors come or stay to this palce, because this is only a beach for taking a rest before continuing the next beautiful places, those are ‘Green Bay and Sukomade Beach’. But this beach is so beautiful and quite, so it is good place for the visitors who want to enjoy or relax in the natural beach. The visitors can swim or fishing cause the wave is not too high and many fishes live there. The way to this place is also beautiful because the visitors can pass some plantation area, hills, rivers, and the employers or inhabitant houses along the way. The visitors can wander to the plantations or the village around the plantations, moreover the people are very friendly. So, i guess that all the visitors will be happy there.

I’ve visited this place before heading to Green Bay. There so many boats parked here & will used by fisherman to catch fish. Some people buy snacks or mineral water here before going to Green Bay.

I decided to ride my motor bike from Pesanggaran to Rajegwesi Beach a place i have been to several times before. The road was in its usual rugged shape, potholes mud etc for 50% of it. On arrival at the Meru Betiri National Park check point I stopped to pay the fee which last year was about 5000rp per person plus a fee for the vehicle. The National Park guy pull out the foreigner ticket book to show that the fee is now 150000rp which is ridiculous to visit the beach. He would not allow me to pass to ride into Rajegwesi village unless I paid. Which I refused. This 150000rp has now been applied to all the National Parks in Banyuwangi. This fee is way out of proportion to what is provided in the way of facilities and infrastructure especially the roads. Definitely not justifiable. A fee of perhaps 2 - 3 times the local fee would be fair. These extortionate fees contradict the Indonesian Governments policy to increase tourism. The local fee have increased slightly also. I have rated this attraction as terrible but only in relation to the fees otherwise it would be very good. Also had the same experience at Mt Bromo last year. Wanted 240000rp+ per person just to walk to the crater and back. Better things to spend the money on.

I brought clients from Spain to this beach. Just on the way to Sukamade by Jeep.

You need jeep to this place from Kalibaru and then through the forest.

Green Bay has a beautiful and isolated small beach, 15 minutes away by local prahu. Worth going to before taking a 2 hour 4WD journey to Sukamade Beach and Turtle sanctuary

The nearest beach from Teluk ijo is quite good. Because it is not well known yet not many tourists come when I visited this beach. This is the closest to the bay of ijo. Prepare a lot of time if you want to visit this beach. Its road terrain is quite challenging,

The Rajegwesi beach is one of Meru Betiri National Park's main attraction. Differs from the other beaches inside the park, Rajegwesi is very easy to access. You will arrive at this beach first before the other beaches like the Teluk Hijau bay.

At this beach there is a fishermen village. You could hire a boat to go fishing or just sightseeing at the bay.

There are small cafes offering seafood dishes. Nice clean toilets also available at this beach.

Please remember that the facilities like restaurants and toilets are only in service during holiday period and weekends. So if you visit this place on a weekday please prepare to bring your own meal and drinks.

Be Advised, before you start your trip, Rajegwesi and Green Bay is far from Banyuwangi about 2 hours+ of driving to the south. The last part which pretty painful, bad road with rocky surface starts from PTPN XII Sungai Lembu (Indonesian Plantation Company), make sure your vehicle is ready and good to go.
Also keep in mind there is a difference between local and internasional tourist entrance fee in the National Park in Indonesia.

Rajegwesi is a nice and quiet beach, forgetten actually. Everyone went to Greenbay.
However the distance to get here is quite a pain. But that what makes this beach so serene. We went here from Greenbay, Greenbay was full of people, but not Rajegwesi.

The Beach was clean, not quite sure the beach can be swim though, high waves.
Does the beach has a great charm?
Nope, the beach was so-so.you have to see it from another angle,by a drone.
What I like:
Less litter
Less people
Long shoreline
What I do not Like:
Takes a long time to get here
The road was offroad-like.

I was very much disappointed about this whole trip from Banyuwangi, as the road was very very bad and hardly any maintenance done though they collected a huge entrance fee from foreigners without having even basic infrastructure in place. The beach was just very very ordinary and I would not recommend this place to any foreigner. It is not worth the trouble of driving three hours to reach this place from Banyuwangi for nothing more than ordinary
