We went there in our car and the approch road was too narrow and when we reached there there was no place to park and couldn't turn the vehicle to come back. If anybody is interested to use public transport only don't risk your vehicle

Honestly i don't know what rating to give.
Whether to give good rating for the experience or bad rating for the way it leads to this experience.
Nice Temple on Hill top with 3 Deities - Lord Shiva with his consort and Uchi Pillayar.
Temple has very odd timings. Only Uchi Pillayar temple opened all through the day. Steps are quite steep and old people may find it difficult to climb till the last. No Lift or Rope car facilities like in Palani. Old people may find it tough.
Lots of Breezy air on the top. Will be a nice experience if visited in evening time. Srirangam gopuram is visible from here.
Quite Walkable from Chatram bus stand. Road leading to temple is very congested due to shopping complex, hotels, road side shops etc.
Request to take a walk instead of coming by vehicle.
Cannot spend much time in Uchi Pillayar temple as it is very small and crowded, but you can come down a little bit and spend time in the hill.
Cameras strictly not allowed. They have a separate person for watching this.

Visited here before my college admissions. Was a great climb, and was a greater experience. The darshan was amazing and the view, so good, I cannot describe it in words.
Anyone visiting Trichy, any time of the year, for any reason, please do not miss out on the amazing temple experience. Irrespective of which faith you belong to, trust me, this is an experience you do not want to miss. The view from the top, the struggle one goes through to climb the hill (almost feels like you're trekking) and the satisfaction on top, all of these make it a perfect experience even if you're not there for religious purposes.

A steep climb of 400 steps will greet you to the great vistas of the Trichy city's sprawl and the cauvery river (pale shadow of itself now).
You can have darshan of Lord Shiva and Uchha Pillaiyar.
At the temple base, you can feed the elephant Pup.
Highly recommended to visit very early in the morning to avoid the crowds and the heat.

A historic temple that is well preserved by the 3.7 Billion Years Old rocks, that are older than Himalayas and Greenland.

This was my first visit to this famous city of south India. It was an amazing experience in climbing 411 steps. The entire temple complex is inside this one gigantic rock. From the entry into the temple complex to the peak is one steep climb. At the peak is the deity of Lord Ganesha (Ucchir Puliyaar). From here one can view the kaveri river.
Other major deity is Lord Shiva at level one below.
The priests were very pleasant and narrated the history of this famous temple.

Located in Trichy. Must have the energy to climb the stairs. The view is beautiful from the top. At the base of the temple, you may find guys selling/convert currency (in cheap rates) - beware, of the fake currency given.
It's wonderful.

The steps were fine if you took your time. And didn’t rush. You were then rewarded with a fantastic view across the whole area of the city and beyond. This was one of our favourite temples. We walked around the temple not inside as only Hindus allowed but not a problem for us. Enjoyed being the only white People around at that point.

I love this temple!
Make sure you’re healthy enough for the little hike that you’re about to take with over 500 steps to walk up. As you enter the temple, the elephant welcomes you.
Filled with rich history, secret passages, inscriptions, deities and city view, the temple is filled with history and religion!
I recommend walking up before sunsets for the beautiful view and city lights. Take with a water bottle or juices if you’re not used to walking on steep rocks.

Rock Fort is a Hillock. It has a large base and it is not a balanced rock. The word Fort comes from being used as a watch tower during early chola kings period.

When I was there, I have used Ola cabs (indian uber). It is cheaper than auto. Autowalas asking too much especially if you can not speak tamil. I recommend Ola if you don't want to use public transport.
