This is a sacred temple for Hindus. We have to walk up around 500 steps. The temple is on top of the rock, with steps carved from the rock. It is a worthwhile visit. It is in the heart of the City.

Simply majestic. Just get atop and have the look at Tiruchchirappalli city is a bliss. On the way to Vinayagr, you need to stop in-between to Thayumanavar temple, the original name of this entire temple

When I was there, I have used Ola cabs (indian uber). It is cheaper than auto. Autowalas asking too much especially if you can not speak tamil. I recommend Ola if you don't want to use public transport.
