As I explored this historic artificial lake, I was transported back to the 12th century when it was built. The serene atmosphere, coupled with the surrounding parks and historic monuments, made it an ideal spot for tranquil walks. The highlight of my visit was the boat ride, which allowed me to soak in the picturesque views while appreciating the significance of this ancient reservoir. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Anasagar Lake in Ajmer promises a memorable experience.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 6, 2023

The Anasagar Lake is an artificial lake just to the north of the Ajmer city centre that was created in the 12th century by Arnoraj Chauhan from which the lake gets its name. The Anasagar Baradari pavilions and Daulat Bagh Gardens are just to the south of the lake then area is a peaceful and serene place for a bit of R & R. The only shame is the litter about the place.

It is to the west of the circuit house in Ajmer. A large lake where one can see a variety of different birds. There are many small food stalls along the road that skirts the lake. While they make a convenient stop for a drink of sugarcane juice or a quick bite the huge number of plastic bags and garbage is ruining the lakefront.

A man-made lake which was built in 1135 -1150 AD. The lake is widely spread in a large area. We witnessed a beautiful view of this lake on our way to Pushkar as the city of Pushkar is at an average elevation of 510 m from Ajmer. Had a soothing time sitting near to this lake in the evening.

It is an artificial lake surrounded by the Aravalli Hills, situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state. There is an island in the center of the lake which is accessible by boat. Boats could be hired from the east side of the Dault Bagh. There are Chowapatty and Jetty walkway. It is a very good place for refreshing in cool breeze coming through lake. Lot of tourist comes here so it is a crowded and busy place. It is nearly 2 km from railway station and 1 km from Bus stand.
It was built by Anaji tomar (Anangpal tomar), the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150. The marble pavilions called Baradari were built by Shahjahan in 1637. Scenic beauty of surrounding the lake can be capture from here. Famous Subhas garden or Daulat Bagh is adjacent to it.
Best time to visit: October to March, when the lake looks fuller with remarkable increase in water level. Also the weather at that time is cool and relaxing.
Nearby attractions: Adahi-Din-Ka Jhopra, Taragarh Fort, Nasiyan and Prithviraj Smarak.

A man made lake is a attraction in Ajmer having Chowpati and jogging track. While traveling by the side of lake towards city you will see a War Tank displayed by the side of road which belongs to Pakistan and captured by our Army. There is Hanuman Temple on hill by the side of this tank called " bajrang garh ". It is one is the cleanest and well maintained temple I have ever seen.. When you reach top you can see Ana Sagar lake on the back..A beautiful location for sunset too..

Ana sagar is spread over approx 13 kms area. It was built by Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named after him.
There is small gardens and pavilions around lake. People sit here and enjoy as sunsets in lake.
The sitting area is known as "Chopatti" and also popular among locals as well as tourist to spend peaceful time. Boating facility is also available around eastern side of lake.
There are fishes also in lake and people feed them. Also you can she fisherman catching fishes from lake. Due to this there is a peculiar fishy smell at certain parts of shores (Where water is stagnant) if you stand close to shore.
Its an interesting place to spend couple hours and enjoy sunset if you have time.
