Fresh air and a nice hike

I went to Tianlong Mountain in December, which was perfect because there were hardly any people there. The air is much cleaner up in the mountains, and we got lucky because it was a really sunny, windless winter day.

Side note: Bring some food and drinks. I didn't see anything to buy, when I was there. There are plenty of little spots to have a nice picnic!

Seeing the old Chinese buildings and the Buddhist shrines was really cool. Also, the caves in the mountains, that seemed to have been carved out so long ago for statues and worship, were really impressive.

My negatives: The whole place is heavily under camera surveillance, which I found strange. It also made me a little uncomfortable, but it didn't stop me from climbing up into one of the caves to meditate in complete silence for as long as I wanted.

The reason I gave Tianlong Mountain four stars is because of the giant (and I mean massive) pile of garbage I found in landslide form just off the path, on the side of the mountain. This was both disgusting and disappointing.

Overall, I really enjoyed this place. It's perfect for a full day of exercise. I think it's a top attraction in Taiyuan.
