We were able to visit this Museum as a stopover on our 3-day Yangtze River Cruise at the port of Fengjie. The museum is part of the Kuizhou ancient complex which also houses the Yaokui tower. What a hidden treasure! You can discover the history of Kuizhou Province as well as the ethnic culture of the local nationalities. We certainly were not expecting the countless fossils of animals and human teeth and skulls. We could easily have spent hours in this fascinating place. Entry is free.

Again worth a look if in Guiyang. A decent small museum, lots of fossils and displays of traditional artifacts. Traditional ladies out the front making batik cloth. The silverware breast plates worn by local minorities were quite unique. The museum has a large gift shop with a good variety, probably priced higher than other places if you want to seek them out, but nonetheless convenient.

This museum is now (May, 2019) in a new building on Lincheng Road near Guanshanhu Park.
It's an enjoyable couple of hours. There's a lot on the local ethnic groups and the history of the region (dinosaurs and all that). There are audio guides, but not in English.

I think this museum may have moved, I went to the Guizhou museum which opened last year at Lincheng East Road No.107, Guanshanhu
Guiyang
Guizhou
and the exhibits look the same as previous photos.
It is a large building now so lots to see, minority exhibitions, so much about local life, dinosaurs etc it’s a wonderful place well worth a visit and it’s all free, including luggage storage. I highly recommend a visit.

Not many antique or minority displays, but an exhibition on modern Guizhou, focusing on local development, agriculture and industry.
