I visited this park several times. If it is not so crowded it would seem to be a nice place, but that is the problem- it is always crowded and litter is everywhere. If you don't mind the crowds, the litter, and the lack of hygiene of the crowds, then it is ok place to visit. People clearing a lung and spitting, people smoking everywhere, and the rubbish may be expected in much of Guiyang so I reckon it is a reflection of the poor enforcement of public health laws in the city overall, which speaks more to the culture than it does of the natural beauty that once existed.

In the past this park must have had great flower gardens. There are some quite nice statues around though. The park is not really maintained. Some areas are more on the wild side, which has its own beauty. At the lake we saw guys fishing. You can walk "walk over water" on stone blocks. Of course there are joyrides for the kids. We went during the week and they were closed. There were also a lot of woman offering food on small grill tables. I am sure this is a nice experience but needs some extra time. For what it's worth there is also a hotel, which to me looked a bit out of shape. We encountered some women making little kids shoes by hand. I paid RMB 20 for a pair. We combined the visit to this park with our trip to Qingyan Old Town since it was on the way from Guiyang. Entrance fee was RMB 6 p. P.

Been there for business. The water is good, the views are nice. Don't miss Huaxi rice noodle, a very famous local special food.

Rt, just a park. Too many people in there, especially the old and the kids. It's free after 5 o'clock.
