It is the place where you can experience a man and wild animal living together with no interference .

From speaking with other people about their experiences I believe that what you see may be dependent on the time of year that you visit, unfortunately our visit was pretty disappointing. There is little doubt that the crater itself is very impressive, especially before you descend however we found there to be very little in the way of variety -... More

Because the crater is flat and for the most part grassland, you can see animals as far as your eyes can see. We had the best animal viewing here among all the places we visited on our safari.

We saw lots of different type of wildlife including Lions, Jackals, Hyenas, Ostrich and my Favourite a Lilac Breasted Roller. We stayed down there for lunch which was had infront of one of the permanent lakes. it was a really wonderful experence, dispite the bumpy roads..

We saw thousands of animals including 3 prides of lion (one pride had killed a hippo!) They have a nice picnic area by the hippo lake with real bathrooms!

The crater is amazing with every animal roaming around with routine animal road crossings. The entire day was filled with wonder and beauty! I can not imagine a more amazing place to see these majestic creatures!

Before descending into the crater, our drivers have to obtain entry permits from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority Office. The scenic view from this Area Office down to the crater is breathtakingly beautiful !! Next we proceed to ride along a very steep bumpy, narrow & dusty road to descend intonCrater. Once inside, the whole majestic caldera is an amazing... More

We booked our safari via Seven Wonders Safari. The company organised the trip perfectly! Wonderful nature on the way to the crater and stunning views at Ngorongoro. Highly recommended to visit on your safari!

The approach never prepares you for the spectacle that in Ngorongoro. Our drive took us up through a rain forest where it is cooler and sometimes damp and where it was difficult to see much wildlife. After the decent into the crater it is completely different. The landscape is more open with many, many animals that appear quite used to... More
