Some friends and I were staying in Moshi in preparation for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. We had just one day to visit the city and possibly buy some souvenirs. Our guide service (Ultimate Kilimanjaro) offered a half day tour of Moshi which included a stop at the Kibo tower. You can walk to the roof of the Tower which is about 9 or 10 stories tall. The view from the top is exceptional since it is the tallest building in Moshi.
There is an arts and crafts store in the basement of the building that is open on Sundays. Most other businesses are closed on Sundays. They have many paintings by local artists. They also have a complete collection of gifts ranging from tourist trinkets to beautifully carved masks and jewelry. If you want a few tourist trinkets to bring home they have them. If you want a beautifully carved wooden mask or animal they have it. They take credit cards and can ship items home for you as well. It is a great place for one stop gift shopping. The staff are very helpful and will leave you alone if you just want to browse.
