We had booked a 6 day non-standar Kood safari via Lake Natron and the northern part of Serengeti. Unfortunately, due to heavy rainfall some roads were closed. We were informed during the briefing and an alternative was set up without extra cost for us even though they had to buy an extra Ngorongoro transit ticket.
Our guide Mkonyi was very nice and very experienced. After 12 years as a safari guide he was still excited when we saw a leopard or other rare animals.
Morris was the best chef one could think of. He prepared delicious food in great amounts. Both of them made our trip a great experience.
The campsites they picked were not too crowded at this time (December/January) and still quite OK equipped and clean.

My sister and I booked our entire Tanzanian vacation through Gladys Adventure - a 7 day climb up the Machame route of Kilimanjaro, a 5 day safari and a 5 day stay in Zanzibar. From start to finish the company was amazing!!
Our main reason for wanting to go to Tanzania to begin with was to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro. The experience with Gladys Adventure was everything we hoped it to be! The guides and porters were all great - knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and super hard working. The food was delicious (and they provided so much of it) and the camping experience was wonderful. We really felt like we were in good hands with them and had so much fun with our guides, Propser and Ignus. They really made the experience one to remember.
We also did a 5 day safari through Gladys Adventure. Our guide, MKonyi, was funny, knowledgeable and experienced. The lodges we stayed in were great, even though we only did the mid-level accommodations. MKonyi and Nelvine even did some on the fly adjustments to our safari plans in order to get the most out of our experience. Our flight to Zanzibar was on the last day of our safari, so they changed our lodge to be closer to Ngorongoro Crater so that we could see all of it on Day 4 and comfortably make our flight on Day 5. It worked out so much better, all thanks to their experience and knowledge!
Lastly, our Zanzibar stay was entirely coordinated by Gladys Adventure. Besides booking hotels, they managed airport transfers and hotel to hotel transfers as well as a Stonetown tour. They really made it stress free and a nice relaxing end to our 3 week vacation in Tanzania.
Gladys Adventure truly is a wonderful company to work with, and I would highly recommend them for any and all of your Tanzania adventures!

We did the 8 day Lemosho climb with Gladys Adventure and a Safari afterwards. The guides and porters were hands down the best we saw on the mountain. They would literally give you the coat off their back if you needed it and they made sure that we had the best possible opportunity to make the summit. In spite of severe winds causing most other groups to turn around, our guides got our group of 13 to the top. Our group was the happiest on the mountain thanks to their friendliness and singing while we climbed. I asked Gladys why her employees give such great service and she said it is because she treats them well (such as by paying them on time and giving the guides a salary in the slow season). I was initially nervous to wire my 30% deposit for the trip, but I'm so glad I took the plunge!

Hi! Looking to visit Tanzania, maybe climb Kilimanjaro and perhaps tack on a Safari or trip to Zanzibar but don’t know where to begin? That was us - looking for a little adventure the whole family, with limited time. After a fair amount of research we chose Gladys to help organize and take us on a trip of a lifetime and were glad we did. We chose the 7 day Lemosho trek to Kilimanjaro followed by a 4 day safari to Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks. There are many tour operators and while we can’t opine beyond Gladys, we can wholeheartedly endorse them. Locally owned and operated, they care about their guests and their employees. From the first introduction to our guides, Prosper and Kashi, we knew we were in good hands, prioritizing safety and making our summit attempt successful. Although it rained daily (December 2022) the crew did everything they could to make it comfortable with a genuine smile and “Jambo” (you’d be really lucky if you get Amos to be an attendant). On summit day, mid-mountain at 3 am and fading, our guides burst out in a call and repeat song to help us push on — at 18,000’ that takes a lot of energy! No other group had that kind of care and just one small example of what makes them unique.
With just 4 days allocated to the Safari, we did a lot of driving but it was comfortable. Gladys took care of everything and Mkonyi, our guide and driver, was knowledgeable, courteous and fun!
One final thought: The sights and activities are largely the same, the difference is the outfitter. For ‘Team Simba’, we’d recommend Glady’s Adventures.

I can't recommend Gladys Adventure enough! I had the experience of a lifetime. During the planning stages of our trip, everyone at Gladys was so responsive and helpful in crafting an experience that would fit our schedules and interests. Then, when my travel plans were delayed due to pandemic-related complications, Tasneem and Hillary accommodated the changes and made sure our trip would go off without a hitch.
We did a 6 day 5 night Kili trek on the Machame route. Our guides Prosper and Simon were phenomenal - they were incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, so fun, and always had our safety front of mind. The talented and friendly porters that accompanied us were very friendly and so helpful. The food was also outstanding. I can't say enough good things about our trek.
After the incredible trek (and a much needed shower), we went on a 4 day safari to Tarangier, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. The scenery was beautiful and the animals were out of this world! I highly recommend sleeping in tents in the parks; we were very comfortable and you can't beat waking up to a herd of zebras eating the grass around your tent, or elephants hanging out by the bathrooms!
Book a trip with Gladys Adventure now, you won't regret it!

We were a group of 9 people in our early 20s that did the 6-day Machame trek. We all agree that we received a lot more than we could have expected!
Gladys Adventure provided us with 4 amazing guides: Prosper, Steven, Rogers and Baraka. Our safety was on the top of their list of priorities. Each day they would do two official health checks including checking our blood oxygen levels. They would guide us on what medicines to take and not to take. They would listen to our lungs, and continuously ask us how we were doing. They would do practically anything to make sure we were comfortable and to help us to Uhuru Peak. I myself had some trouble breathing, so Rogers carried my bag on top of his own while staying with me behind the rest of the group to make sure that I slowly but steadily would reach the top. We saw this kind of help from all the guides throughout the entire trek. They always encouraged us and taught us Swahili songs and phrases that would keep the energy of the group at its highest. They were very funny to be around, and at the end of the trek they were our friends rather than our guides.
The service was outstanding! Our chef, Faustin, cooked some incredible meals for us. Before the trek I didn’t expect the food to be so delicious. Our incredible waiters, Amos and Juma, would always bring laughter and comfort to the group. The many porters were absolutely amazing! They carried our big backpacks, tents, toilets, food etc. to each campsite and they would set everything up for us before we arrived. The work they did was incredible! There is no way we could have reached the summit without these amazing porters.
Afterwards we went on a safari to Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Our guides were great and once again the food exceeded our expectations. Maurice and Freddy would cook amazing and delicious meals for us and always made sure that we were happy and satisfied.
Hillary, our main contact from Gladys Adventure, helped us immensely during our time in Tanzania. He would recommend tours on our days off, and he was always available for questions. Some from our group would continue traveling around in Tanzania after these two weeks that had been planned by Gladys - and even though they would be on their own, Hillary made sure that they could contact him if they ran into trouble or needed any sort of help.

Rarely does all dreams, hopes and wishes come true, but when reflecting on our journey to Tanzania, which was organized by Gladys Adventure, everything we had hoped for came true. Due to Covid-19 we had to change our travel dates several times and on all occasions Gladys was helpful and accommodating. When we finally managed to travel to Tanzania in January 2022 the high service orientation manifested itself even more. We combined climbing Kilimanjaro with safari. Our climbing guides and team was amazing and we learned a lot about the nature and climate on the mountain. Security was a key priority and we felt safe all the way to the top. Our guides, Andrew and Dao, was mature individuals with competency and a highly friendly attitude. Also the rest of the team was clearly dedicated towards getting us to the summit in a safe and secure way. It is clear that the company treats not only clients, but also employees, well.
Also our Safari guide, Saleh, was a great guide and had an amazing knowledge about the areas we visited and the animals we saw.
We can highly recommend Gladys Adventure and will definitively make use of their services next time we come to Tanzania

I was meaning to write this review since we came back in October 2019 (procrastination is the disease of 21st century :D).
We were 2 ppl, did an 8-day Lemosho route Kilimanjaro trek in October 2019. From the day 1 as we were met at the airport and till the day we flew back, guys at Gladys Adventure took real good care of us. We felt safe at all times, cared for (lots of food, great variety considering the conditions on the mountain, private toilet, tents always ready, clothes taken to dry, one of the crew meeting us after the summit halfway with juices and snacks, etc. etc. ) Friendly hardworking and fun team! Our guides Stephen and Peter were very friendly, fun and knew what they were doing. They did everything to make us feel good along the way. We both ascended and descended successfully, my friend had it a bit harder, so she was helped with the backpack and walking. Oxygen was also available as well as daily checks of our health. No rush, safety first - this was the moto. We also had quite extensive communication via email before considering the tour operator, so I'd also mention professionalism and patience of Nelvine from Gladys' team. They are on the list of KPAP, so we can be sure that porters are paid fairly for their hard work. The last but not least, the company is run by a woman, which is not that common, unfortunately. Bottom line, if we're ever to do the Kili trek again (or safari or mt Meru trek), I'll contact them with no doubt. This was top experience, I don't think we were taken better care anywhere else.

We recently completed the Lemosho eight day trek up Kilimanjaro. Gladys Adventure & Safari provided outstanding communications and coordination in our planning efforts, awesome guides (Erick & Roger) who provided great assistance and leadership in helping us safely summit, and experienced cook (Peter) and porters who provided the great meals and teamwork needed to keep us going and make our summit successful.
After the trek we also went on the five-day camping safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro crater National Parks. Our guide Kepha was trained in wildlife management and extremely knowledgeable about animal habitats and behavior. The camping experience and food served was great.
Gladys Adventure & Safari is an experienced company and we highly recommend their services.

When 9 of us planned the climb 9 months ago, I had the wish to book locally with a Tanzanian company rather than a European based operator. This was partly because I felt locals would know best and I hoped the money would stay local to allow them to employ locally and help the economy. I absolutely made the perfect decision. Numerous emails went between Tasneem and I and she was efficiently and knowledgeably able to tailor what we needed to dates and numbers. This included organising airport pick ups and excellent Moshi hotel, the Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel.
Now I have done the climb, I see that the difference between success and failure to the summit is the detail from the start. That watching by the excellent and professionally calm Prosper led to success. But he watched what we ate, he scrutinised the water level we were drinking daily, he and his team checked oxygen sats and blood pressure daily. This all led to the night of reconning when we go for the summit on night 5. We made it because we were so well prepared. The camaraderie of the climbers with the porter and guide team was humbling. The cook Faustine amazed us with how superb the food was every day.
If you want to climb the mountain, go with Gladys. 100%. You will maybe regret it if you don’t so why risk second best. Gladys. The best company on the mountain.
Having been so impressed with Gladys for the climb, we were confident that all would likely be excellent for our three night 4 day safari. And so it proved. Kepha and Mykoni drove us 12 in two Toyota land cruisers. Lodges superb, driving standard exemplary on dirt roads, knowledge of animals faultless and food again first class.
Use Gladys. Beating superb. Thanks Gladys for giving us a holiday if a life time.

grazie
