Kilimanjaro Climb-rongai Route 7 Days Itinerary

Rongai Route 7 Days begins at the remote, northern side of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border and will take 7 days. We hike through a true wilderness area towards the jagged Mawenzi Peak, then cross a barren desert saddle, before climbing up Kibo’s eastern crater wall. The Rongai route is a more gradual ascent, and is therefore preferred by those with little or no backpacking experience, but is equally enjoyable for even the most hardened trekkers.

Reaching the top with such a great team makes everything easier. Wonderful and experienced guides will ensure that you reach the top! And the cook is asked to keep your bellies happy and not a lot of energy. Kili itself is beautiful and we enjoyed different breathtaking views every day. And each of our team reached the top with satisfaction :) You will not find better Porters, cooks and guides anywhere.

What an amazing week we had! My friend and I completed the 7 day Lemosho route with KILI HEROES. I can highly recommend this route and this company. A beautiful and not too difficult (with reasonable fitness) 5 days walking to base camp, summit day was very hard but the summit is what we were there for! Everything about our experience was fantastic, the crew were friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the camp set up was great. Our guides Innocent and William were fantastic. Unfortunately Innocent became sick and was unable to summit with us, but that was fine as William was quite capable without him. Instead 2 porters, our new friends, Agust and Miko accompanied us, and helped me alot. I would have had a much worse time without them. Agust carried my backpack and Miko helped me with the 'sand skiing'on the way down for a much quicker descent. A big thank you to both of them! William is a very friendly and competent guide, he taught us Swahili along the way. Porters Agust, Miko and Happy God were happy smiling faces to welcome us into camp every afternoon after the days walk. Innocent quickly judged our fitness level and walking speed, and was able to allow us a bit of a sleep in (which was most appreciated!) compared to other groups as he knew we could make it to camp in plenty of time. Over all an excellent experience!! But be sure to do some training to make it more enjoyable!!

From the moment we contacted Evarist and the owner Frank - the level of service was great. They answered all our questions and concerns. The team was great - Guide Innocent and assistant Guide Rema (Emanuelle) were amazing - without them, we could not have made it to Uhuru peak. The whole staff of chef (Shudi) and porters were professional and very very dedicated to every detail. We felt safe and taken care of at every minute - from planning each day, the equipment, monitoring our health, carrying our bags on the last climb and pushing forward to the top! And everything is with a smile - Hakunah Mattata... Remember - some of the profits go to local charity... No need to pay more or look elsewhere - Kili Heroes is the right choice.

A great week climbing Kili via the Machame route. Our guides Magnus and Gasper were excellent and wanted to make sure everything was OK for us each day. They set a good pace for us and we got to the summit. The team of porters and camp crew were very friendly and keen to make our camp as comfortable as possible. They were always full of smiles and hello's when they passed us on the path during the day. The food was great and plentiful! It was nice to use a reliable local company rather than booking through one of the big holiday companies.
