When we were planning our trip to Tanzania, we spent many hours looking at different safari companies. What initially interested us in Bantu Pori Journeys was the idea of “local owned”. If we were going to spend a month on a trip of a life time, we wanted to be able to give back to the economy along the way.

Our initial inquiry to the company was answered within hours by Baraka, founder of Bantu Pori Journeys . He was incredibly knowledgeable about the different parks, different lodges, and the ideal amount of time to spend in each location. He asked what we would like to see, how long our trip would be and what our budget was in order to build us a custom itinerary. He knew where we should splurge on nicer locations, and areas where we could save a bit of money. The flexibility and options presented to us were big reasons that we loved Bantu Pori Journeys .

We had already booked our climbing outfitter up Mt. Kilimanjaro through another company when we found Bantu Pori Journeys . I was originally a bit stressed with how the logistics would work out with so many moving parts. Baraka handled everything flawlessly and the transfer from Mweka Gate to the Lodge was seamless.

We spent the next ten days with Danny(Our Guide/Driver) exploring Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Central and Northern Serengeti National Park. We were in excellent hands and absolutely loved our whole wild adventure with Danny and his Land Cruiser “Lucy”. What impressed us most was Danny’s love and passion for what he does. His genuine excitement and enthusiasm towards showing us the beauty of Tanzania was amazing and kept smiles on our faces for the entire time. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the areas and parks that we drove through, as well as all of the animals that we saw.

It’s hard to choose one favorite part, but a few highlights of our trip were seeing lionesses feasting on a buffalo, leopard cubs playing together and thousands of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River for the great migration. We learned so much from him and every day was a new adventure. By the end of our trip, we felt like Danny was a close friend we had known for years, instead of just a few days.

We can’t wait to go back someday, hopefully sooner rather than later, and we have no doubt that we will book our trip with Bantu Pori Journeys again. If you are searching for a safari company, we honestly can’t recommend them enough. We will forever sing their praises to anyone who asks!

Thank you so much, Baraka and Danny, a thousand thanks wouldn’t be enough to convey our gratitude to you for the trip of a lifetime that you made possible. We sincerely hope our paths cross again someday soon.

Asante Sana!

Great guide and excellent agency

We were extremely happy with our experience. We saw a lot of animals, stayed in very good resorts and enjoyed the conversations with our driver guide... and all of it for a very reasonable price. They were extremely professional and happiness, Bantu Pori Journeys helped us to plan the trip, They were very kind and patient with us, specially because we planned the trip last minute. We will repeat for sure. 100% recommended. thanks for everything

From my first email enquiring about the itinerary and availability, to your last welcome home email I can say that Bantu Pori Journeys were incredibly responsive - often replying immediately (pretty awesome considering the time difference!). All my questions were answered, and any
concerns were addressed immediately.

I have the highest praise for Shany (Mountain guide). He is a pure, rare, and valuable gem! He is the most understanding, the compassionate guide I have ever experienced on a tour. He
paid attention to the tiniest details regarding their clients.

Shany shared his extensive knowledge of the ecology and botany of Kilimanjaro, indicating both the Latin and common name of every plant I asked about. He took note of my love of jungle/rainforest trekking and recommended returning for another of the Bantu Pori Journeys tours which include my interests.

I would highly recommend any tour of Bantu Pori with Shany as the leader and hope to return for one of
the other interesting tours that hold my interest. I also want to mention the amazing guiding and emotional assistance by Willy, Mtui, and
Abass. Each of these lovely people expressed interest in knowing me as a person and making sure that I was content and comfortable. Willy was the personal porter for me. He greeted me each day with a huge smile and congratulations for making it to each hut. Willy summit-ed with us and was very encouraging and offered assistance all along the way.

Shany lives up to his name
and provides a quiet, solid form of support to all the crew members.

Visiting Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater has to be one of the world's premium safari experiences and doing it with a company like Bantu Pori is a must. Everything on this safari was beyond my expectations from the accommodations, weather, food, scenery and wildlife. Tanzania should definitely be high on any traveler's list.

I know it will always be for me and I am looking forward to returning and exploring more of what Tanzania has to offer.

I required special food, no gluten, and dairy, and was pleased to be accommodated very well and deliciously on both tours.

Thanks to all for helping.

We requested a day trip to chemka hot springs
We confirmed and got an invoice for 30 USD each.
The morning of departure no sign of the car. We got a message saying the fee is now 35 usd and that the driver will only show up if we agree
We had to agree or cancel.
The driver arrived 3 hours later...
The driver was nice, the trip as well but the process was distasteful.

Jambo, Apologies for the fee adjustment miscommunication and the delayed driver arrival. The new invoice was sent late on WhatsApp, possibly affecting your response time in the morning. Our base being a 2-hour drive from Arusha, coupled with delayed confirmation, led to the driver's delay. We regret any inconvenience caused and value your feedback to enhance our communication for future trips. Despite the hiccups, we're glad you enjoyed the trip. We're sorry and hope for a chance to offer you a smoother experience in the future. Warm regards, Bantu Pori Journeys

Just returned home from an amazing time in Tanzania, first up was the Kilimanjaro climb, what an experience! The organization of the trip was to the highest standard, our guides Filbert, Elias, Ambrose and Tuma were amazing and really looked out for us and treated us like family. All the porters and team were amazing and so helpful, Richard our waiter was so cheerful and happy all the time and so encouraging. Raymond took pride in making sure our tents and shoes were kept clean and even dusted us off on occasion.

Richard the cook did an amazing job keeping us fed, the food was delicious and the cake he baked for us when we had all summited was stunning as was the welcome back to camp we received from the whole team after we had summited, they were genuinely pleased for us and it was really heart warming.

Next up was a 5 day safari with our guide Danny who really went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. Danny managed to maneuvers our vehicle into the best positions possible to give us the best views of the animals, and was very informative about the animals and parks. Lunches were amazing we even had a table cloth and silver plates and cutlery and the food was delicious, Danny really looked out for us especially when the velvet monkeys were eying up our lunch one day and he ensured they got no where near us. We couldn’t thank him enough.

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish and I highly recommend Bantu Pori Journeys

We did a full 5 Day 5 night Safari visiting Terengire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Bantu Pori Journeys and we were very happy with the arrangement! Our guide Daniel was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about Tanzania from him. He showed us every animal we requested.

These parks were very green and booming with wildlife in December. Lake Manyara national park was surprisingly like a rain forest, and Ngorongoro crater had absolutely beautiful scenery . Most of all we enjoyed Serengeti and the wild camps, really getting close to the wildlife and nature.

I had never thought I would see thousand and thousands and thousands of wilderbeasts and zebras. Awestruck and very happy with visiting Tanzania with Bantu Pori Journeys!

I found these people very friendly and helpful, and everything was very well organised.

The scenery of course was spectacular and the game parks efficiently run. The weather was perfect for the time of year, however, Kilimanjaro was covered by a lot of cloud so the best view was from the plane.

I never felt unsafe as my guide looked after me very well.

I really enjoyed staying in a Lodge and to hear the lion roaring at night and the food and drink was first class. It was a really enjoyable holiday and fully recommended.

My driver, Hussein demonstrated exceptional experience, skillfully spotting every animal i had imagined. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone!

Awestruck and very happy with visiting Tanzania with Bantu Pori!

Bantu Pori Journeys is an amazing company to work with. In the planning phase, Baraka was great. He built a completely custom itinerary for us including the climb and a Safari and made several recommendations that made our trip even better. Once in the country, Moody was awesome. He took care of us every day we were in Moshi, he even helped me get a haircut and shave between the climb and safari.

As for the climb, we did the Northern Circuit over 10 days, our guides William, Moody, and Safari, and the whole crew (16 total) did a great job. The weather wasn't awesome but they did everything they could to make us comfortable and see that we had a great time. On a personal note, I would not have made summit day without William and Moody's constant encouragement. The food was great, I miss the cucumber soup already. I can't imagine a better crew to have climbed with.

After the climb, doing a Safari for 4 days was a great addition. Our guide Kantey did an outstanding job getting us into tons of animals every day. I highly recommend spending a night or two in the Serengeti at the tent camp we stayed at. Nothing like hearing Hyenas calling right outside your tent at night.

And finally while in Moshi there is no better place than the Pink Flamingo boutique hotel. Theresa and Alejandro are wonderful hosts and it was a paradise to come home to in between our other adventures.

I wanted to thank you and your team so much for organizing our trek. We were constantly impressed along the way with your help and professionalism from the moment we interacted online. Our team was awesome. Our American friends are now friends for life. How lucky were we to trek with such a great team?! Our porters and guides were outstanding.

Athumani was of course amazing and a great leader respected by his team. His sense of humor and calm manner were appreciated! We know it’s not easy to strike the balance with a group with many worries and concerns and we found ourselves easily trusting our guides.

This fact helped offset just how bad we felt as we watched the young porters carry heavy loads on their necks and shoulders. We really lucked out with you guys in all respects and will of course highly recommend you to friends with this goal in mind. We hope to join you on another trip in the future!

Let us know how we can in any way promote you or help the guys on our team. They definitely stole our hearts and won our deep respect!

Kante and I had a great safari ( Lemala camps were very special), and are now off to Zanzibar for a few days before heading home. We are very humbled by our experience.

We definitely fell in love with Kili and Tanzania!

We just returned from a 10 person family safari to Tanzania, and it was a trip of a lifetime. Baraka from Bantu Pori Journeys helped me plan this trip over several months and he was a pleasure to work with. He patiently answered all my questions and was extremely accommodating throughout, including multiple changes to the itinerary, accommodations, and number of people.

Every place we stayed in was clean, beautiful, had impeccable service, and served delicious food. We had several vegetarians in our group and they had no issues with meals. We heard lions and hyenas outside our tent in the Chaka Camps at Serengeti and Tarangire, had beautiful views on our balconies at the Serena Ngorongoro, and fabulous rooms at Escarpment lodge in Lake Manyara. The staff in each place was friendly and helpful, and we had a comfortable stay throughout the safari.

Our guides for the safari were unbelievable. They told us stories from their personal experiences of over 10 years, and kept our group entertained. They were also very patient with our large group which also included a 1.5 year old. Thanks to their efforts, we saw lions, cheetahs, a cheetah kill, 2 leopards, and countless elephants, giraffes, hippos, antelope, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, and buffalo. We also spotted a caracal, elands, and other rarer animals thanks to the keen eyes of our guides. The guides were knowledgeable about these animals and made sure we found and saw the animals as close-up as possible while prioritizing our safety.

We opted for a balloon ride over the Serengeti, and this was an unbelievable experience to see animals from a bird's-eye view. The champagne breakfast which followed in the middle of the Serengeti was amazing as well.

Bantu Pori Journeys coordinated our trip from start to finish, and even had a check-in point before we began the safari to ensure our expectations were met. They also coordinated our transfer to the next destination in Nairobi, where we stayed overnight before flying to Cape Town. I plan to use BPJ again whenever we return, and highly recommend their services to anyone thinking about a Tanzanian safari.

Thank you team Bantu Pori Journeys for an unforgettable holiday! Words cannot do justice to describe the fun we had.
