Peak Planet has been setting the standard for climbing Kilimanjaro since 2008. We hire the best and most experienced Kilimanjaro guides. They are all Wilderness First Responder certified. We staff our climbs with a 1:2 guide to climber ratio. Our guides conduct daily health checks to measure pulse, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation every day. We are members of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP) – a non-profit organization that monitors Kilimanjaro operators to protect the welfare of porters. We are also a member of Leave No Trace. One of our main goals is to offer a great value for high-quality services. So we evaluate every expense carefully to ensure that every cost we incur makes a tangible difference in your experience. We want to have the best service at a fair price without compromising our high standards.

Peak Planet exceeded every one of my expectations and provided one of the best experiences of my life. I will cherish and remember this trip forever! The crew's dedication and commitment to not only everyone's safety but success went above and beyond. Our group had a range of capabilities and experience levels from avid backpackers who have been to Everest base camp all the way to first time campers who trained on a treadmill at sea level. All of us were successful in summiting regardless. They keep the positive attitude flowing constantly and you will never go hungry with 3 hot meals a day and snacks throughout. I cannot recommend this company enough!

Where to start! I spent many many months researching who to climb Kilimanjaro with back in 2019. After exhaustive research Peak Planet came out on top. So booked in Dec 2019 and due to climb in October 2020. Covid came and it was all easy to transfer to July 2021. Covid again led us to postpone until July 2022! Finally we made it 2 and a half years after booking! The lodge we stayed at was the Stella Maris run by Teddy who greeted myself and my daughter like family and the entire two stays (pre and post climb) was the same from all the hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We then met our Chief Guide Davis Assey and his assistant guides Saimon, Stephen and Thomas… This was were our incredible journey really started. The briefing was thorough and they made us all bring down our entire kit to absolutely make sure we had everything to keep us safe and warm on the mountain. Hugely reassuring. Once underway and we met the porters it was obvious that PP treat their staff with kindness and respect and it showed with the true enthusiasm and joy they spread through our climb. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they would set up camp everyday and then come to find you and take your rucksack, then remove your gaiters and boots and clean and dust down, followed by welcomed hot water to refresh with. The food cooked by Tito was just brilliant. Far exceeded what I thought we would have. Every meal was hot and plentiful, always enough and the banana and chicken stew was definitely a new one on me! Each morning woken with a hot drink and water and then breakfast and all the help needed to prepare for the days hike. Whilst in camp we had clean porta toilets and we had 2!! One each for females and males, which worked out lucky for our group of 4 girls! Immaculately maintained. Thank you! Back to the guides and each day, morning and evening they did through health checks with humour and seriousness and you always felt looked after. Every evening we had a briefing of what to pack and expect the next day for the hike (which were different in so many ways each day). The positivity and encouragement that we could do it was awesome…It soon became like we were all one big family and I think as clients and porters and guides we were just that! Finally, to cover making the summit, I, being the oldest in the group definitely felt the daily grind and was fairly weary by summit night but nothing was stopping Davis and his crew from getting me to the top! Hot ginger tea halfway up and then coke was a surprise! At some points physically lifting my leg up higher rocks, taking layers on and off me and then linking arms and helping me descend, it was a surreal, unbelievable, incredible, exhausting and fantastic experience that will last with me for ever. The dedication of the crew left me so humble and I felt so lucky to have chosen PP for the trip. Our group made myself as the oldest at 50 and my daughter the youngest at 18 feel so secure and loved and these people are now firm friends with special memories shared for life. Do not hesitate book with Peak Planet and you will have the trip of a lifetime!

I loved I just needed to focus on walking (pole pole). The guides lead us in the right direction, the crew broke down and set up camp, cooked delicious meals. The guides were positive, helpful, fun, and so knowledgeable about the plants, history, and culture of the mountain. The porters were so quick in taking all the things up the mountain so camp was all ready for us when we showed up. This company treats their porters really well- which was a big reason why we picked it. They’re respected, and paid well. We were served amazing soups at every lunch and dinner that replenished salt and liquids. I really liked The Peak planet crew. They thought of everything- from coffee/tea accompanying the wake up call, to someone patrolling the tents while we weren’t in it to protect our belongings, to bowls of hot water to clean ourselves off after a day of hiking, to a tent porta potty at every camp, to medical check ins every evening. If you’re thinking of climbing, look no further than Peak planet. They really are that good.

An amazing group of guides and porters, that gave such a great atmosphere to be around and made the trip 10x more enjoyable. Peak Planet was rigorous with health and safety checks the whole way up the mountain, assuring we never had severe altitude symptoms. We were fed very well and looked after with such fantastic staff, I would highly recommend Peak Planet to anyone who is looking for a company that looks after their staff and also puts the climbers safety paramount.
