We had a great vacation with Panoramic Adventures. To begin, Matt Davidson, owner, went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we wanted out of this vacation. We wanted to climb Kili and do a safari in 1.5 weeks. So not much time to work with. Matt was very accommodating. We even got delayed at JFK. So only 4 days now on Kili. We called Matt on our delay in Doha, and no problem, Matt fixed the situation so we were still able to climb Kili. Paul the guide, met us at the airport. Took all our bags and drove us directly to our hotel. We loved staying in Sal Salinero, selected by Matt. It was a beautiful resort. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The climb was just as expected. We stayed in A-Framed huts. When we got into camp, our chef, Paul, had popcorn, cookies and hot tea ready for us to eat! ZeeDonnie, served us. Very courteous! The climb was 4 days. They really reinforce to eat and drink lots of water! Great advice. The higher we got, the less I wanted to eat, but they were good about reminding us to eat. Also, a side note. I have a pretty sensitive stomach. I had no problems with even fresh fruits and vegetables. They wash all their food with boiled water. So I was able to eat everything with no problems. The last day of the hike, we woke up at midnight and summited at 7:30am. We went slowly (pole-pole). Which worked in the long run. There were no acclimatizing days, so going slow works. We were caught off gaurd about the pace. We are from Colorado and are climbing mountains pretty much every weekend, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, running/hiking in the mountains. So this type of trip, we were ready for. So that was the climb. For the Safari, we loved our driver Leemo! He was very knowledgeable about the animals and were to find them. We drove from Moshi to Tarangire National Park. We got to see some animals for a couple hours there. Then we drove into stay at Endoro Lodge close to Ngorongoro Crater. The hotel was very nice, clean, friendly staff. Only problem we had here was the mosquitoes in our rooms, and I got sick, both times eating there. One thing I really loved about Endoro, it was our guides Birthday. We asked them to make a cake. No problem, they made a cake and then also had all the staff out singing happy birthday. Above and beyond. The next day we did Ngorongoro Crater! So amazing. Leemo, our driver, got us right in the middle of all the action. No more space to write!

Going to Africa was my last continent to visit so I planned it to coincide with my 40th birthday. We used Panoramic Adventures to climb Kilimanjaro and due a safari on a recommendation from a friend and after checking other tour companies. It was my wife and 2 other friends who planned to make the trip with me. We have all traveled together on other trips and have done an extensive amount of adventure foreign travel along with working overseas. So we were pretty specific in our plans and don't typically use tour companies. This trip was particularly complicated with members of our group arriving and departing the trip at different times. Panoramic was able to work with us in developing an itinerary to fit our tight schedule and keep it affordable. Also coming from Colorado and being avid climbers we didn't want to follow the typical "Kilimanjaro off the couch sea level slow (polepole) climbers plan". Not that we were trying to beat any records we just wanted to move at our pace. Paul (our guide) knew this and allowed us to move at the pace we felt good with but also he did a good job of holding us back at the right time so we wouldn't over do ourselves. We had not climbed this high before. In addition to our successful climb in less than ideal weather we had a great safari. We went to Taranire NP, Ngorongoro NP, Serengeti NP, saw all the Big Five and everything else imaginable. Including watching a leopard catch a baby warthog and lions chase some buffalo. With our constantly changing plans Panoramic Adventures was flexible enough and had the skill to get us this great opportunity. The lodging that they put us in was spectacular. Especially the "glamping" at Mawe Camp in Serengeti. We even got caught up in the nightmare weather of New York and the delays at JFK just as we were starting our trip. JFK is a horrible airport to be delayed in. We were in contact with Matt and Paul the whole time to work through our options to minimize any impacts the weather caused. They did an incredible job! I definitely recommend them.

We had an absolutely miserable experience with Paul, our "guide" and with this company. First, when he met us, he had barely had a conversation with us before he spent about 30 minutes haggling with my mother about the price of the day hike to the Mandara Hut. Then, the 1st thing he says to me is "You are beautiful" and later he asked me out for a glass of wine. It made me incredibly uncomfortable and was completely inappropriate. Because so much time was spent discussing money and picking up lunch, we started out late on a hike to the 1st hut. Throughout the day, Paul didn't speak to us at all. We were taught nothing about the plant life, history of the park...nothing! He barely gave us any breaks, and at one point, my mom was feeling really sick. He just kept saying, "Keep going" and "let's go." After we reached the hut and had lunch, we started back down. I was so exhausted by the end of the hike that I fell. My mom kept asking for ice for my leg, and he ignored her. In fact, she kept trying to engage him in conversation throughout the day and she was ignored. The next day, we were supposed to go on a "walking safari." My mom and I decided that we wanted to go to Arusha to the Cultural Heritage Center instead of the hiking safari. After a 10-12 mile hike the day before, we were exhausted. We met up with Paul the next morning and before we even had a chance to discuss with him what we wanted to do, he started in on how we need to pay him more money. My mom had already paid him about $600 dollars. He kept repeating that we had not paid him a deposit (which we had and we have proof). He also grabbed my mom's phone, which is not okay. At that point, we both decided that we did not want to spend any more time with Paul or this company. Not too long after, one of the owners of the company and Paul himself start calling and texting my little sister (she was the one that found this guide) about how we "owe" more money and how they "lost" money. It was completely inappropriate to be involving my 19 year old sister in this nightmare of an experience. It is really clear that Panoramic Adventure could care less about the satisfaction of their clients, but only money. It was truly horrible.

Leah. Thank you for this review. Please note the following details as they occurred from our office while you were in your 2 day tour: 1. The price of your 2 day tour was proposed and accepted at $850.00. Your group worked with us a few days before the actual trip to set this up. You never paid the $283 deposit, and only paid the $567 balance of what would be collected on the day of your trip. I believe if you look at your invoice and the email quote we sent weeks before, you will see this is very clear. Because of the costs of reserving equipment and staff, we do not offer refunds within a certain time before a tour. Certainly, cancelling in the middle of a two day tour is no exception. 2. We called and wrote to your family in the only number we had available to learn more about what was happening and to try to lend assistance. We received no reply until several days later telling us that we were wrong about our own quote and invoice. However, you did tell us about the other concerns and we had a major meeting to discuss inappropriate behavior, even if not meant to be offending, when caring for clients. 3. In our reply to your sister' whatsapp number we absolutely acknowledged your concerns and approved a discount due to your disappointment, however you never responded and instead wrote this review. We asked for your contact and refund details in that reply. You never responded. However, we have since confirmed that... 4. You asked for $235 in refund but already took a self imposed discount of $283 when you refused to pay the full value of your invoice. If you can please show us where you sent us a total of $850 per the terms and conditions of our invoice and paperwork, please help us to correct this matter. I provided you with our email address, phone number, and a resolution, but you have never responded. However, you appear to have already taken a considerable and unapproved discount, so we would like to confirm that this matter is now resolved. 5. In the middle of Paul trying to explain the money problem, we offered you the use of the truck on day 2 for whatever you wanted to use it for, since you had already reserved it, but there was so much tension over the problem with the money received, we are certain there was much lost in translation and communication on the 2nd day. As our office understands it, you hired a different vehicle from a different company even while the truck we could have let you use was present at your pick-up location. 6. All of that being said, we still wish you would have contacted our management to resolve this, as we are saddened that your experience was so unfortunate and unique. Our guide and co-owner was nervous all day in day 1 and the morning of day 2 because he knew the invoice amount was not fully collected and that we were going to work at a loss on this tour, which we did. If there is anything we can do to talk about this, as our management has still never received a call or email from you directly (only a chat that we did in fact immediately respond to), please contact us at 303-718-7794... this is a direct cell number to an owner. Lastly, I care deeply about the feelings of my clients, as does our entire team. I only want to cite the facts about the money part, as that is important to diffuse in your incorrect commentary. However, your other concerns are certainly items we have already discussed, investigated, and corrected. I thank you for making me aware. I only wish you would have worked with me directly after your complaint was offered. We have heard nothing back from you until this complaint, and we would have resolved this with care and professionalism Thank you: -Matt & Sarah Davidson, owners, on behalf of Paul Msery, fellow owner

Me and a group of 7 others are interning in Moshi for the summer and decided to take a day trip to kili. We hiked up to the first hut and our tour guides were so helpful and supportive! It took me a little longer to get up the mountain than my friends but Paul stayed back with me and walked at my pace! It really made a difference knowing I wasn't being rushed! Had a great lunch (which they also provided) before we headed back down. Over wonderful experience!! Will definitely be using them if I'm ever in Tanzania again!
