It’s hard to find the words to describe how fantastic our experience with Monkey Adventures was. This is the second time I have chosen this company to go on a safari with in Tanzania and once again it exceeded my expectations. The company is extremely professional and has the most fantastic guides and offer competitive prices.

1. Prior to the trip
My friend and I booked this trip at very last minute and Monkey Adventures we very accommodating despite the fact it was only a week or so before we were due to arrive. They provided us with many different options for accommodation and answered our questions promptly about what parks were best to go to and where would be best to stay. They at very last minute organised transfers to and from Kilimanjaro airport to our hotel in town.

2. On arrival
On arrival to the airport we were met by our fantastic guide Frank Coster who was holding a sign up ready to take us to our first hotel. It was quite late and dark and it was a comfort for us to be met by someone from the company, and we felt very safe. Once we arrived we were then met by a representative from Monkey Adventures who went through our itinerary with us and we completed a couple of forms.

3. The Safari and our Guide
The Safari experience was 10/10, we went to the Serengeti for two nights and Ngorongoro Crater for one night and saw so much wildlife and the main reason we saw so much was because we had an exceptional guide.

Our guide Frank was a very safe driver, we always felt comfortable in the jeep which was kept very clean and tidy and he regularly stopped so that we could have toilet/food breaks. Frank was very organised, we always arrived in our next destination just before dark (the park rules) and we were up in time to see the sun come up each morning (the mornings are the best time to see game).

Frank knew the parks like the back of his hand and knew where certain animals territories were which gave us good chances of seeing game. More often than not we were the first jeep to turn up at the animal (big cat/rhino/elephants) so we did not have to share the experience with dozens of other jeeps which made it all the more special. He lets us spend as long as we wanted with the animals and didn’t pressurise us to move on if we weren’t ready. At one point we saw a pride of two females and seven cubs and we watched them for hours and even went back after a toilet break to spend a further hours before we had to leave. You could tell he was just as passionate about the animals. He was also very informative about the animals.

Our guide was also so friendly and approachable, we spent hours chatting about Covid, the different cultures and the animals. We had a good sing along in the jeep and a dance and it was great fun. We just wish the safari could have lasted longer.

This is the second wonderful experience I have had with Monkey Adventures and I know that I will come back time and time again.

Prior to even setting foot in Tanzania we were impressed by Monkey Adventures quick and thorough responses back to us throughout our booking process. What we thought would be a complicated process to set up all our required transfers from the airport to lodging and to the start of the tour, Monkey Adventures amazed us by immediately accommodating and scheduling our itinerary. Further, the price/value that Monkey Adventures offers is by far the best we found.

Our Safari experience was absolutely amazing! This was made possible by our outstanding guide Reggie. Reggie's fun personality, deep knowledge of the wildlife, energy to get up early and try to track down the best animal viewing areas really made for a fantastic 4 day / 3 night safari. If I ever go back I would 100% request Reggie as my guide!

Our positive experience with Monkey Adventures continued with our Kilimanjaro trek on a 7-day Lemosho route itinerary. We had Derek, John, and Sam as our three main guides, all of which were extremely personable, knowledgable, and encouraging throughout our journey. We always felt safe with them. Goodluck was our 'stomach engineer' for the trip and cooked up some food that we always looked forward to each day. The porters always made us feel at home and worked so hard to make sure we had a great experience and made it to the summit.

Going into the trip I definitely did not think that I would consider my guides to be friends after I left Tanzania, but with Monkey Adventures I do! Thanks Monkey Adventures!

Promise - This review promises to base its’ rating on:

• Value for money
• Relates to the trip advisor rating for the venue/event/company
• Reflects the reason why we chose this venue/event/company
• If it lived up to the reason why it was chosen

Excellent value for money. After a lot of searching with price being a big a factor we decided why should we spend USD 3000 approx each when we can do the same trek for USD 1500 each.

This local company was chosen given it’s high rating on TA and it didn’t disappoint. The nine man crew we had looked after us exceptionally well. We were well fed, the food was planned to ensure that the right balance to complete the trip. We felt safe and the trek was expertly guided with the experience of the guides showing through on several occasions and were entertained along the way.

We also chose this company as it’s a locally run firm not one based outside Tanzania, this was an important factor in our decision making process to help support the local community and economy. Given all crews are made up with Tanzanians we couldn’t see why spending extra $’s using an external company would achieve this.

The whole trip lived up to our expectations. We would highly recommend this company and the fact that were able to give face to face feedback after the trek with a Monkey Adventure rep means it should only keep improving.

One final point, if it’s within your budget pay extra to take a portable toilet. If this is not an option take a tub of vicks vapour rub to put under your nose when using the local facilities.

My fiancée and I just returned from a 4-day (Dec 23-27) Safari with Monkey Adventures in Serengeti and Ngorongoro and it was the best experience of our lives! Monkey did a superb job from the first contact. We reached out to 5 different safari operators and Monkey Adventures stood out immediately. They always replied with lots of details, information, suggestions to our initially planned itinerary, considerations on best accommodations given our budget and location. They really demonstrated impressive knowledge of the location and were very attentive from the beginning. Also very important: their rates and prices were highly competitive, so after 3 weeks of research we didn’t hesitate to book with Monkey Adventures. And we couldn’t have chosen a better operator! Very friendly and experienced staff, well maintained vehicles and senior drivers/guides make a lot of difference. Our guide Ashley was exceptional. We highly recommend him! Probably one of the most experienced guides out there. His life story is amazing (he is a Maasai), he managed to go to university to study animals, so in addition to being and excellent guide and knowing every inch of the region he always gave us detailed explanations about the animals! Also we were always one of the firsts to spot wildlife action, he knew which areas of the park each animal usually prefers and as such we were able to see the big five and and incredible amount and variety of wildlife!
We will definitely be back soon to Serengeti and we will choose Money Adventures and Ashley again!
Thank you for this amazing experience!

We booked a private Safari tour and right from the beginning Monkeytravel provided us with lots of helpful information and options to select lodges and fee rates for potential upgrades. This was extremely helpful along the booking process being transparent, fast and friendly. The tour itself was just wonderful thanks to our driver/guide and nature lover Freddie. He made the trip unforgettable, was so super happy to share with us the best moments when we saw herds of elephants for the first time, lions, beautiful birds and on the last day even the leopard 🐆 spotted in a tree. We also enjoyed very much the lunchtimes with him well organized from the hamper. He was there for all wishes even starting early morning game drives.
We can just recommend the itinerary Lake Manyara (small "park" with lots of monkeys, elephants, zebras, deer, giraffes and various other animals incl. birds around the lake), then the Ngorongoro Crater which is even mid October just unexpectedly soo magnificent. Last but not least the huge Tarangire National Park which has the size of Luxembourg and offers all scenes especially lions and elephants or new born baby giraffes 😇

The absolute, no doubt, best experience of my life.
I had a dream of going to Africa for my 30th bday and COVID made that dream almost impossible to happen. When I found out Tanzania was opening for tourism I started to contact several companies and Monkey adventures was the only one who always replied in a timely manner and had the best prices. The whole process was so smooth, Gaurav organized everything and was so assertive with his suggestions.
David was our guide, and the best beast hunter in the SE Africa. We faced a couple of hick-ups and he was so patient, professional and made us feel so safe throughout the entire trip.
We were able to see the big 5 and decided to even extend our trip last minute because it was too hard to leave.
I can not recommend them enough, the best people and professionals.

Monkey Adventures you literally made my dream come true at the most improbable times. Thank you so much.

I just returned from a fantastic 2 week family vacation in Tanzania that included a 5 day, 4 night safari with Monkey Adventures to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our experience with Monkey Adventures and our guide, Ashley, was excellent! Monkey was very responsive and helpful as I worked through options and questions leading up to my decision to book, and then again leading up to our departure. Payment, logistics, airport transfers, pre- and post-safari lodging all went smoothly with no surprises, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Ashley! The day before our planned departure, he drove us around Arusha to see the city, grab lunch, visit the Maasai Market, hit an ATM and grab some snacks for our journey. This was not planned in advance, but accommodated on short notice. Ashley is a Maasai, and he taught us a lot about Maasai culture and way of life. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Tanzania and the wildlife we saw, and we saw a lot, including "The Big Five!" Ashley had a great sense of humour and was a pleasure to spend 5 days with. Our boys, ages 12 and 15, particularly enjoyed Ashley and our overall experience. He was great at finding wildlife, and positioning us so that we were able to observe. He managed everything thrown at him capably and with a smile, including a flat tire and getting seriously stuck in mud following a heavy rainfall. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and would highly recommend Monkey Adventures!

My girlfriend and I did a 7-day safari in September 2021 organized by Monkey Adventures during which we’ve visited Tarangire, Serengeti (Central and North) and the Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide was Fredric Onesmo (aka Fred or Freddy) who spoke perfectly english, french, spanish swahili and shaga (sorry for the misspelling)

Overall our experience was absolutely perfect!!! I definitely recommend Monkey Safari.

First off, we organized the safari with Monkey Safari through an exchange of emails. Leah, in charge of Monkey Safari’s booking, sent us very clear emails with itineraries and accommodations to choose from. The other details of the safari were given as well very precisely. She responded to our questions every time very quickly. We felt very much confident to trust Monkey Safari during the whole booking process.

Although we were very lucky with all the animals we were able to see, Freddy was determined at every moment during our trip to make the best out of our safari experience. He continuously kept inquiring other guides in the park on where they saw game to optimize our daily routes. He never hesitated to take the extra route to make sure we saw game from as close as possible. As a result, we got to see the big 5 multiple times and the gnu migration in North Serengeti with much ease. Freddy was very nice and fun to chat with, he’s an excellent guide and person!

In addition to our game drive safari, we took the option of the Ngorongoro Rim Walk, which consists of a short and slow 2-hour walk with a ranger to reach a beautiful view of the crater. We only saw a few giraffes from afar. I would not recommend this experience as in any case you get to see the view of the crater at multiple occasions during the safari.

Thanks again Freddy and Monkey Safari for this truly once in a lifetime experience!!!

Amazing. DENNIS & THE TEAM RULE!= request them if you can. Dennis! You are such a leader! There was a group of (4) in my party including myself that was paired with 5 other people and it was unbelievable. In a world where great service is becoming a rarity, Monkey Adventures and Dennis and the team Far Exceeded expectations. Before the trek our party had so many questions. They would copy each question and answer it specifically- They accounted for every little detail and I would book with them 1000 times. From transfer to the airport to the stays before the trek to just making sure everything was smooth Monkey Adventures knocked it out of the park. Dennis was the senior guide and made sure everything went smoothly. He personally checked in on everyone to make sure everyone was doing well and his speeches the night before each hike was truly inspiring. One Team One Goal. If you are planning on doing this trek book with Monkey Adventures and ask for Dennis!

We booked a 10 day Safari with Monkey Adventures comprising North Serengeti, Centrsl Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire National Parks. Not only has Leah our contact been very helpful in organizing the schedule but she also offered us a broad range from high to lower end priced tented camps and lodges so that we jointly set up our perfect individual schedule. I was initially concerned transferring such a high amount of money in advance to a country where you can never claim it back and where payments are often demanded in cash upon arrival. But Monkey has a perfectly organized payment provider with European, US and Australian Bank transfer links (for Europe it’s a Belgian Account) so payments are easy via SEPA.

I would especially like to mention our guide Banana Instagram: @ramabanana86 who drove us to every possible and impossible point through the smallest pathways and mudholes while being an always safe driver to see the big five but also 3 incredible mara river crossings with hundred or thousands of Wildebeast.
