We undertook a 7 day private safari with Monkey and had a great experience. We saw all but one of the big five and our Driver/Guide, Reggie, was very informative and helpful. He was instrumental in us actually seeing two of the Mara River Crossings as well as constantly looking out for other great sightings. Our 4 x 4 wasn't the best but it got us there and back safely! Pick and delivery service to the airport was timely and generally all the service we received from the company was great.

Our family of 5 used Monkey Adventures for 7-day Lemosho route + 5 day Safari in June 2021. Monkey took care of us from A to Z, including airport transfers, hotel bookings, trek guids, food, safari, covid testing (8hrs extra driving for us!) . Everything. I highly recommend going with a company that handles the full trip because navigating in Tanzania on your own would be challenging. Here are the main highlights: * airport pickup. Our drivers had to wait 2hrs while we went through a brand new covid entrance process, including getting tested. No complaints at all and a friendly conversation on the way to the hotel even though it was midnight. * all hotels they booked were great: Lindrin lodge, Eileens Trees Inn, and Tukaone Camps in Serengeti. Safe, comfortable, good food. * Kili trek: Monkey's crew were friendly and knowledgeable (3 guids, 16 porters). 3-course meal each night (yes they are simple courses but for tent camping what a treat). Carried our rented private porta-potty w/tent (highly recommend). Sent all 3 guides with us on summit day. Had drinks brought to us 3/4 way down on summit day. * Safari: Our guide was Reggie. Ask for him. Friendly, fun, easy-going, young, well informed, adventurous. Good vehicles. Monkey Adventures costs were very good compared to many others. I also felt the company took care of their employees.

Amazing experience. We went on this trip from 8th of October to 23rd and really want to share our experience with you, because everything was well organized from the arrival to the drop off. Even before the trip we had very fast and good communication about the planning of the trip and the challenge with the payment. Because we decided very short on our stay in Tanzania to do this trip, it was to late to do bank / creditcard booking. It was made possible to pay the whole trip at arrival (make sure USD cash printed after 2009). At the airport we were picked up by two very friendly Monkey Adventure guides (easily to spot because they are wearing Monkey Adventure polo's and driving a Monkey Adventure van :) ). If you can't find them, you have received prior to arrival a local phone number you can call to help you out, or via whatsapp. We got dropped of at our hotel for the night. Next day we were picked up again, now by our guide for the hike and someone from the office. After the paperwork we set off to the Machame gate to meet our crew. They were in one word, fantastic! Other than that, very enthusiastic, friendly, helpful and well organized. They made the trip. The food was also fantastic, much more and better than expected. We were pretty lucky with the weather and had great views from the top, which all four of our group reached. This trip has created a life long memory and we can very much recommend this trip and definitely the organization. One small tip for the organization. Monkey Adventure has as we experienced different organizational parts. The Kili part is different from the Safari part. For us we thought with discussing the itinerary for the whole trip (Kil and Safari) with one party. Normally probably not a problem, but as we were on the Kili with Monkey Adventure the first week (largely without internet of course) we've received questions about confirmation on the safari of the second week from Monkey. We asked about this at the Monkey office in Moshi (Kili part) and were assured it was arranged. However, next morning, we found out it was not entirely. This being said, in 1 hour all our accommodations and safari trip were re-confirmed and our guide for the three days picked us up! The tip would be to give all Monkey Adventure parts some insights in the overall booking, for even better support. Despite this small hick-up, it has been an absolute pleasure to book with this organization and experience this fantastic country.

My fiancé and I did the 5-day Marangu Route trek in October 2021 and we cannot say enough good things about our guides and Monkey Adventures. Before we booked our trek, when I was just researching trek operators, Monkey Adventures promptly and professionally answered all of my emails. They also made sure that all of my questions were answered in each email (and I assure you, I had a lot of questions in each email). They also made things easy for us by arranging an airport transfer to our hotel in Moshi, and booking our hotel for the nights before and after our trek. I felt like we were in good hands before we even got there - and that trend only continued! Our senior guide for the trek was Brighton and our assistant guide was Allen - they were both excellent. Neither me nor my fiancé had any "real" hiking experience before our climb, nor had we ever been at an elevation close to as high. Despite all of that, Brighton and Allen successfully got us to summit, and they made us feel safe and comfortable all the while. Beginning the day before our trek, they met us at our hotel in Moshi to give us a briefing and looked over our equipment to make sure that we had everything we needed. They were extremely knowledgeable and happily answered all of our (again, many) questions. My fiancé and I always say that we would still be on that mountain if not for Brighton and Allen. I can't even begin to name all the ways that they helped us. On summit night, my fiancé was struggling and considering turning around at several points, but Brighton and Allen provided enthusiastic encouragement in all the right ways at all the right times, knew exactly when we needed to take breaks, and when it was best to keep going. Not only did they provide the moral support we needed, they literally carried my fiancé's daypack for him when they realized how much he was struggling AND they gave him one of their headlamps because my fiancé's stopped working (meaning that one of them was walking in the dark instead of my fiancé). THEN, as if that wasn't heroic enough, when I was hesitant and sacred about descending Kibo Peak, they each took one of my arms and more or less skied me down the mountain so that I wouldn't be afraid and/or take a million years making my hesitant-decent (like I said, we would almost definitely still be there if not for Brighton and Allen). These guys are honestly heroes. They were also very personable and had great senses of humor - it was a pleasure to be hiking with them for five days. Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for a good trek operator at a great price - book Monkey Adventures and ask for Brighton and Allen!

My girlfriend and I did the 7 days Lemosho route, and managed to get to the top thanks to the dream team from monkey Adventures. - the booking process was great I contacted them via WhatsApp first (number on the website) and asked for a quote via email. They are very responsive and give great advice. The level of English is excellent. - they provide the option to pay via transfer from any country in the world - they picked us up at Kili airport and we had a briefing with the lead guide who went very cautiously through our gear. We thought we were prepared but ended up renting some gear which happened to be life changing up there. - The journey to the top was just perfect: the team was energetic and friendly and very professional. We only had to think about walking and enjoying they took care of everything. - 3 hot meals/day and the food is good. - the guides were of utmost importance for the ascent for moral support and expertise! - the gear they provide is of very good quality and we managed to have a warm night at 4600m altitude! We definitely recommend Monkey Adventures and back up their ranking on trip advisor! Big thanks to the team: Tino, Raja, Freddy, Emmanuel, Joachim, Abdul, Robert, Chaz, Richard, and Clinton! Heads up: not included in price are sleeping bags and airport transfers but they communicate transparently about it and provide it!
