Overview
The Lemosho Route is widely considered to be the best route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Not too long ago, there were only two main routes used to climb Kilimanjaro - the Marangu route and the Machame route. But as Tanzania's tourism industry flourished, the Kilimanjaro park authority created more trails to African's highest peak. Lemosho, a relatively new route, is preferred by reputable operators due to its beauty, remoteness and success rate. In short, it maximizes the chances that a climber will reach the summit, and enjoy the experience overall. The Lemosho route can be done in as little as six days on the mountain. However, it is ideally tackled over eight days for a better altitude acclimatization schedule. The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, located in the western base of mountain, within its lush, fertile rain forest. The route heads across the Shira Plateau, before circling along the southern circuit halfway around the mountain, exposing the climber to great views from all angles

I can hardly put into words how incredible our experience was with Masu, Aden and rest of the Top Climbers team. We were welcomed with open arms, felt like part of the family. The food was amazing, and varied special mention to Chef Daniel and Iddy our waiter. We bought lots of snacks and sweets to share with the crew which they were very grateful for, but trust me you don’t go hungry even if you don't bring your own with you. We chose to have a private toilet, which we didn’t at first think was necessary, but it is a lot nicer than venturing far away to the big toilets, and it also gives another porter a job. Our summit crew were Masu, Aden, Iddy, and Hashim. Each and every porter made a vast difference to our experience. Special mention to Elizabeth our only female porter! Safari with Chris was 4 days, 3 nights with mid range accommodation - an unforgettable experience. We got to know him very well and we made sure to include him in every conversation and every meal. He was so intelligent we could ask him anything and he knew what was happening in each national park. And we had a new safari vehicle compared to the rest at the parks. Coffee and Waterfall tour with our driver Oscar - a day trip that proved to be very interesting. We went to Hillborn Organic Coffee. We spent our time joking and getting to know our crews, they have so much love and honesty to give please be open with them you will enjoy your time so much more! There is a huge difference in the quality of booking with Top Climbers compared to the rest you will see along the way. Don’t forget cash to tip each person individually at the end and at the end of the hike you can give them any old gear. You will want to go above the recommended tip and give them the clothes off your back. Please, please, please book with Top Climbers you will have no regrets! And make sure to mention the names above for the BEST experience. Note we went in September 2019 not 2020

I recently completed a 9 day Northern Circuit Kili climb followed by a 9 day safari and it was absolutely the best trip of my life. The Kili climb was amazing. Our guides, Abu and FC went above and beyond to provide an excellent experience while always listening and adjusting based on our needs and preferences. Our cook, Haji, made the most incredible meals and our team of porters was outstanding. We both successfully summited, though it took some coaxing from our guides and Pimba, our waiter who so kindly summitted with us simply to bring hot tea along the way. I can’t imagine having done it without them, the entire team was incredible. For safari, our driver/guide was Raymond and we thoroughly enjoyed all 9 days of the safari. We saw more animals that I would have ever imagined, much closer than I thought as well. We saw all of the Top 5, including 4 of them on the first day! Raymond also adjusted the trip to our needs, either starting later, ending earlier, etc. depending on how we were feeling. He is an excellent guide, knows the best spots for the animals, and an excellent driver – even rescuing another jeep that had become stuck in a river. The safari was incredible, and I highly recommend asking for Raymond as your guide. Manase had been a pleasure to work with for quite some time on this trip, including numerous last minute modifications and reschedules due to flight changes and COVID. Can’t speak highly enough about Top Climbers – they are highly recommended!

Wow, its two years today since my summit night. I didn't quite make it all the way - my blood sugar levels fell into the fifties and I was too exhausted to go on, but that does not detract from the wonderful experiences I had of the trip, the camaraderie between the trekkers guides and the porters, and the lifelong memories. I attempted it at 58 and I am so glad that I did since I have since developed osteoarthritis of the knee since then, and am eternally grateful that I made the trip whilst I still could. I feel blessed. The forest days, lunch at lava tower, the incredible Barranco Wall and the pre-climb trip to the coffee plantation were all amazing. The company do everything for you. My only suggestion to people contemplating this trek, is to take double the snacks you planned on, and keep eating all day. I had a cut on the roof of my mouth and was having trouble eating. This was my downfall. Book the trip with Top Climbers. You won't be disappointed. John B

The Mojhi tours ( Mojhi.com) and the Top Climbers Expedition organized my tour. I travelled to Tanzania by Ethiopian Airlines on this way: Vienna-Addis Ababa-Kilimanjaro. Ethiopian Airlines flight are safe, clean, comfortable. Meals are very tasty. I spent a day in Addis Ababa. If you would like to stay there, take a fresh negative covid19 test result with yourself. It worths taking a sightseeing tour around the Ethiopian capital city by taxi. It is absolutely safe, the driver knows what you would like to see. Not to miss the Entoto hill where there is a beautiful view. Arriving to Kilimanjaro, a driver was waiting for me then took me to the hotel which was near the city centre of Moshi. My last hiking was exactly a year ago. Before climbing Kili I didn't do any acclimatization tour. The first section until 2720m was very easy through the rainforest. We stopped just at one time because of my guide. He was hungry. We fulfilled the phase of the second day until 3720m while we got soaking wet because of the very heavy rain. Otherwise it was also as same easy as on the first day. We stopped at one time just because of my guide. Again.. On the third day we had to reach the 4720m level. At the beginning I had no problem. The symphtomes of the lack of 6% oxygen appear around at 3900m, as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, double vision, hallucinations. Since I have done many volcanoes above 4000m, my organs could deal with these problems. That's why I didn't feel these symptoms But there was an other problem around 4200m. My strength started to leave my legs. As we got upper and upper, It was harder and harder. I needed some seconds break many times. I didn't sit down, just stopped. I felt it was an eternity to reach the next camp. I was very tired. On my way I met 8 Swiss climbers. You should have seen them. I have never seen such as tormented faces before. At the camp, at the neighbour hut there was a Tanzanian man who slept. I was talking to him at the previous camp. He said he would like to start the top climbing at 10 pm. Likely he was sleeping because of this reason. I was very quiet not to disturb him. Otherwise he has climbed the Kili 3 times before just on other routes. He also said he would like to fulfill the all routes and this would be the easiest. That's why it is said Coca Cola route. I wanted to go to sleep about 20:30. But he woke up right that time. And he was very noisy. I thought, alright, not for long he is leaving. I was waiting. But he didn't. He was very loud. I couldn't imagine what he did. He left just 01.00 when I had to wake up. I was very tired and angry. I didn't sleep a minute either. We started the last etap at 04:00. It was very steep. I don't know which one was more difficult. This or the Damavand two years ago. We arrived to the rim of the crater at 8AM. Air temperature was about -8, but I couldn't feel it. Maybe because of there was no wind. Just a little bit. I was lucky. Getting to the rim, the Gillmann point, we had to take more 2 km length, 200m level difference to reach the highest point. We spent half an hour there then started the downhill. At the last camp we stopped just for 30 min then went on to the second camp which was at the sea level of 3720m. The leader of the camp received us then said congratulation. Then he said, that day except me, nobody could get to the top. Thinking of the all routes, not just the "Coca Cola" route. Everybody gave up, all people turned back. I asked, what about the Tanzanian man who has climbed the Kilimanjaro 3 times before? He said, he also gave up. Hollalaaaaaaaaaa -)))). It seems not the Coca-Cola route is the easiest -))). And he deserved because he didn't allow me to sleep. On the next day morning we left the second camp, we continued our way to down. Because of my leg problems we went down on an other route. It was easier but longer then uphill. So, the lengths of the whole tour was almost 80 km. All the members of my team, my leader, cook, porter were professionals. I was completely satisfied with them. It was a very good idea to choose the Mojhi tours and the Top Climbers Expedition as operator. Many thanks for everything to my team. Special thanks for Ravi who was my guide. I spent 4 nights at the Park View Inn Hotel. As I have mentioned, it was near the city center . Hotel was very well equipped and clean. Pool was clear, it was cleaned every day. Breakfast contained beans, rice, vegetables, fruits, fresh juice, coffee. And what you wanted to get. In addition to the basic equipment, there was a TV, a refrigerator, an airconditioner and a fan in the room. After climbing, on the next day I went to a coffee plantation. Telling the truth I didn't want because I have been myna coffee plantations in other countries, but I left myself to the organizer to persuade me to visit there. It would have been a loss to miss it. I'm not telling you why. Try it. Go there. it will be a very nice experience. Tanzania is not Kenya. There is no racism, it is safe, people are very friendly and helpful.

I completed both a Northern Circuit safari and the 7 day Lemosho Kilimanjaro climb with Top Climbers. Absolutely everything was perfect, beyond what I could have ever imagined. Everyone was extremely friendly and I always felt safe with our guides. Communication throughout the whole process was quick and easy, and the company was gracious enough to accommodate our last minute change of plans. The food was excellent, and they catered well for a vegan diet. I can't recommend this company enough! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!!
