Bisoke beaut and easy. Muhabura brutal.

Climbed Bisoke and Muhabura from the Rwandan side. Bisoke was $75 each plus $80 for a 4x4. They tell you you need a 4x4 to get to the mountain. Technically that is true but if you... read more

Climbed Bisoke and Muhabura from the Rwandan side. Bisoke was $75 each plus $80 for a 4x4. They tell you you need a 4x4 to get to the mountain. Technically that is true but if you take the risk and get a moto to the park reception you'd be able to blag a seat on someone else's. We walked as... More

Gorilla encouters have to be one of lifes great moments. Can,t rave enough about this adventure, an hour with the Gorilla family at close range is stunning even though the silver back bowled us over because we were on his path. Awesome! Start planning now. One caution, you should be reasonably fit, you will be put into a group of... More

No one that visits Rwanda should have anything else at the top of their list than this place. We enjoyed a long hike up to the Bisoke Crater, and, on the previous day, a quick hike to see the Golden Monkeys. Very fun! And be sure to go see the gorillas, like everyone else.

Hiking to visit the gorillas is expensive but absolutely worth it. We went two days in a row and are very glad we did so as the families and the experience was different each day. Be aware that some of the hikes are very steep while others quite easy. You can ask for your preference but there is no guarantee.... More

Thank you Diane Fossey and all of the people to come after her to make this park what it is today, a place where the last remaining gorillas are safe, thriving, and providing an entire industry for the local people, which will hopefully ensure their future. Though there are tough ethical questions about 'gorilla tourism' I respect them, but in... More

Ask for Francios and laugh all the way to the gorillas - Jigi-Jigi and Oh my God! Francios is wonderful and worked alongside Dian Fossey.

We did two trips to see the Gorillas and one to the Golden Monkeys. It was a magic experience to be near the majestic animals.

Very well organized gorilla treks. The rangers, porters and staff are all top-notch with providing a very positive gorilla trek experience. At the meeting point things are well marked. The local community came out and entertained us with music and dance while we waited to start. Overall, just outstanding.... AND the gorilla families are surreal... most recommend!
