City view

Offers one of the best vantage points to view the sea of red roofs the city is known for. The structure isn't so well maintained.

On a weekend trip to Ibadan , bowers tower was in my to do list. No one in the nearby vicinity could tell us the exact location. Even Google map took us through a road which ended in a wide drain. Finally when we almost gave up hope my Friend commented "where Google map fails theres Okada for rescue". And... More

Surprised that Bower Tower given any mention as the area it exists is not well demarcated, the tower which is at most 20 feet high, in a busy market street has no annotations on it and virtually no space for photography, if you asked 9 out of 10 indigenes of ibadan what Bower Tower was they wouldn't have an inkling... 非常值得一游的景点。这里能够俯瞰全城的红铁皮屋顶。登塔的门票价格是200奈拉。楼梯很窄,要小心的爬。 It's the best site to view the whole city of Ibadan. The tower is not too high but very interesting. Be cautious about the steps inside, which are very narrow. But when you climb up, you'll find it's worth visiting. The entrance fee for the tower is N200. 非常值得一游的景点。这里能够俯瞰全城的红铁皮屋顶。登塔的门票价格是200奈拉。楼梯很窄,要小心的爬。 It's the best site to view the whole city of... More

Not being maintained but a nice place to see all of Ibadan from a small tower that is also located on a hill. Small stretch of bad road to get to it. If you are driving a low car DO NOT venture onto this road, park somewhere and do the walk.

Drove past Bwers Tower yesterday. Brought back loads of childhood memories. Bowers Tower is a 30+ foot tower ereceted in Ibadan at Oke Are, hil in the Dugbe area of Ibadan. The tower is named after Captain Lister Bower who was the first British Resident in Ibadan. It was erected in 1936 and sits on one of the highest viewpoints... More

a 30 foot tall art deco tower built to honor the first white man around these parts. Shows its age and neglect. A man who had been sleeping presented himself as the caretaker and took a small fee. The view from the top of the claustrophobic staircase is the best in town. Awesome view of Ibadan. Tip: Don't, I repeat,... More

Ibadan, the land of the Yorubas, the happening city. At the time of independence of Nigeria it was the largest city of the country, the third largest in Africa after Cairo in Egypt and Johannesburg in South Africa. With development and passage of time Ibadan today is the capital of Oyo State and third largest in Nigeria after Lagos and... More
