My 4 colleagues and I had a terrible experience at this establishment because of the hotel manager whose name is John. Our travel agent had booked 4 rooms and paid in full in advance. When we got there, we found that John had given out our rooms and he was insisting that he will take us to an accommodation outside the hotel (which he did not want to give the name of the place). When we confronted him about this, he was very rude to us and he kept on lying which pushed us to involve our travel agent. He did not want to admit that he accepted money from other people mainly because it was during the safari rally weekend. We ended up having to go back to Nairobi in the middle of the night because all the hotels in Naivasha were fully booked. This was such a bad experience and even worse we did not get an apology from John. We chose the place because it was beautiful and serene, it's so sad we did not get to stay because of the manager's greed.
I would love to go back only if John is not the manager.

Not a special tour with a hefty price tag (23 USD pp) that takes you along a pebble path that goes back and forth on the same roads. The view is not bad, but not worth the detour. No wildlife during your trip, only if you drive a bit afterwards.

The best hiking experience and scenery viewing around the crater Lake. Lots of game viewing like buffalo, giraffes and Zebras ,elands monkeys and many birds for bird watchers.
Having the best view of the crater lake from the viewpoint gives the best scenic part of the adventure
We hired one of the local guides from Naivasha who took for three days from hell's gate national park 'lake Naivasha and the crater lake (orucho:0703618972)

Crater Lake was such an idyllic get away in Naivasha, Kenya. So tranquil, It almost felt like we were completely out of this world. Colobus monkeys kept us company most of the time, and giraffe and warthog, were ever around us. The nature walk with our guide, was equally enriching, walking so close to zebra, and observing buffaloes from a safe distance. The highlight was the night game drive, with Evans the ranger. He spotted leopard TWICE! in one night for us. Peter was in charge of all our meals and he did a really good job at it! Would definitely recommend The Crater Lake Sanctuary.

Located off the beaten path and absolutely worth the trip. We enjoyed our walk up to the highest point and the view was breathtaking. The food and service at floating restaurant was superb!
A great place to visit while in Naivasha.

Took a group of children there and even though we didn't see any game, the views from the top of the crater were beautiful. The hiking trail wasn't so bad for the children although we didn't go all the way round. I saw a beautiful swimming pool from the top, something to try next time.
The guides we very helpful and encouraging too.
The entrance fees were also quite reasonable.
I would have loved to see the buffaloes though:)

if you want quiet and a complete sense of being in another world, this is it. You suddenly drop down this step path that leads to a small lake in this crate and once there, all outside world is gone. Even the mobile phone does not work here. Just you, some small not so great restaurant, trees, bush, water and flamingoes. Awesome. This is a place you bring a camera - and a book. Nothing else.

There are 2 attractions from what I understand: walking the crater rim and visiting the animal sanctuary. Both can be easily done in one day, and combined with lunch. We have only hiked the crater rim which we enjoy, seeing giraffes and buffalo up close. Lunch is also pleasant on the edge of the crater's lake. The second time we visited, they waved the park fee if you took lunch. Worth it.

Dear Sir.
We promise you more activities this time: bird watching with more than 400 species available, discovery sporting, tree planting, boat riding at the Crater Lake while being educated on how the lake was formed, Both day and night game drives, counting of the stairs. The nature walk coupled with sundowner are a loveable experience.
Welcome to Crater Lake once more.

Terrible experience ... we had to paid a costly entrance fee for what ... nothing!!! You can not even walk around the lake as they did not clean the path..tall grass and bushes all on the path.,
You are expected to pay to enter into crater lake sanctuary and indeed you waste your money ... the place is dirty, not well maintained and ... nothing especial..,
I would not suggest to waste your money to enter into this place ...
If you are around naivasha I would suggest to rent a boat I naivasha country club and have a nice ride all around the lake .. beautiful experience.
For crater lake game sanctuary ... just avoid it.. I complained and asked to speak with the director but they said it was off duty...but Ut was an excuse as it was a working day and in working hours .. this means no respect for the guest.
Will never come back again and will
Never suggest anyone to come here again.
