Very nice experience

Even the animals were introduced in the 80's the chance to walk close to then is incredible. Cost 30 $ and you have to do the visit with the ranger

Once you get passed the lectures by Linda to operator of the reserve, Walking in the cresant island reserve amongst all the animals and birds is quite pleasant.

I visited Crescent Island in Sept during a business visit. The island is a world of pure peace. Walking around watching giraffes on your right side, zebra on the left and water bucks in front of you, all going on with their business and not minding you is an incredible experience.

Good place for a hike among a few select wild animals mostly zebra, water buck and the like. Great for bird watching as well many species. It about a two hour round trip. We didn't see hippos nor flamingos. There are a few water buffalo though we were warned to stay clear since we were on foot. It's a beautiful... More

Great outdoor space that let's you walk the landscape where the animals are in their natural habitat. We walked there and our kids thoroughly enjoyed walking and seeing the animals right next to them... perfect setting for those family holiday photos that we cringe at in the later years 😅. I highly recommend the boat ride and take plenty of... More

The island is not really actually an island. You can drive or walk there. Once there you pay your fee to Linda and Barry who own the land and off you go. There was supposed to be a guide but he never showed himself and I was happy to wander around on my own. Lots of Zebra. 4 Giraffe. Lots... More

You get to walk amongst wild game (herbivores) on the open plains next to Lake Naivasha.Very different from visiting a game park in a car. The animals seem used to people but I cannot comment convincingly on safety as the guide carrys no gun or weapon even a stick in case of danger, yet he confessed that hyenas sitings are frequent.Or... I loved the idea that the animals are still afraid of humans, they run away if you come too close. Sad, that there were no monkeys or predators in the island. But still - I haven't seen 'wild' animals from such a close distant! (In Hell's Gate they are further in the fields and I didn't have chance to visit... More

Highlights: ⁃ Plenty of animals to see: gazelles, zebras, waterbuck, giraffes, wildebeest ⁃ Extremely scenic ⁃ Unrestricted viewing access - no fences separating you from the animals that aren't too shy around humans ⁃ They have their own guides to take you around the place ⁃ You should couple it with a boat safari around Lake Naivasha ⁃ Thrill level... We did a boat safari that started with a fairly up close and personal view of hippos from the water (which was a little bit scary when one of the two boats propeller got tangled in fishing line and we had to drag them away from the snorting beasts!), and ended with a trip around the crescent. Overall it was... More
