Great Experience😍 with the best Tour Guide ❤️. The Tour Guide was very Knowledgeable and Experienced as he took us to other attractions near the zoo 😊. Contact Mr Noisty on +233 558712206🇬🇭. The animals we awesome as we took a lot of pictures and also the site guide educated us on most of them 🔥.

This was the second time I went, with the family and just because my son loves animals so much. But it is just sad. Nothing in this Zoo meets any standarts. Neglected, the animals are just a sad drama show. Malnourished, enclosers way to small. There is no space for any of the animals even the snakes. Keepers just sit there doing nothing. Lion enclosure was totally overgrown with grass. They were just meat and bones. This Zoo needs to be closed and the animals relocated. It is in the middle of the busy, loud and dirty town. I feel very sorry for all the animals there. Since the opening 1957, there haven't been any improvements I guess, because this is how the Zoo looks like. I know it is not Europe but, for the sake of the animals, please close this Zoo and relocate it to a better, bigger place. This Zoo desperately needs money and a sponsor. I don't understand how animal wellfare haven't closed this Zoo already.

Lots of reviewers have unfairly compared it to a European zoo with lots of money. I actually think that it's a fine zoo for its size and the money that they have to keep it going. We saw lots of interesting animals and the placards were very informative.

We saw the hyenas but had gained weight because the cage was too small for them. But on the next visit, we were told the hyenas were dead. Sad to know. I enjoyed myself. We met the orphan elephant "Batu" who was rescued and he is quite friendly. But the place needs a lot of assistance and maintenance.

The cages were tiny and dirty. The peple didn't cared and its was just terrible. As a ghanaian I feel that this zoo should be shut down until the owner adjusts to a fair and right standart of the animals.

This Zoo is across from one of Kumasi's busiest city roads. When you enter, you leave behind the cities craze and walls of sound, and enter a jungle. Quite literally, the zoo is a collection of cages in an already wild territory. For animal lovers, don't expect too much: there are only a few animals, which are kept in reasonably small cages. It's worth it to escape the city, but nothing too special if you are used to European zoo's

This zoo is the worst I have ever been to. Looking at some of the reviews from last year it seems that standards had dropped further by the time I visited this summer. It is not really a zoo as there are very few types of species and barely any information about the animals. It's pretty much just an animal prison. It seems there just is not the money to keep this place running to any sort of reasonable standard. Locals use it as more of a park.

well, so much being said about how underfed the animals are and how poor the place is, bla bla bla. For sure, it's true! You can cry looking at some of them...true. BUT! Not to go there and not to support them? Well, who else gonna do it dudes? the zoo will not close just cause you don't go there, that's for sure. so who's gonna support and feed the animals if not for us-visitors!? the cages were clean, bananas were there to buy, the guards were watching if stones would be throne at the beasts...so well, they are trying! I would go there once again, and if it's only for the animal's sake~

Do NOT go in and see kumasi zoo ..
It is the most terrible I've ever seen ..

All animals are in tiny cages without food and drink ..
The park is not being maintained!
ALL animals are suffering from stress, hunger and looks sick out ..

Tears ran down my cheek the longer I went into the park ..
This remains animal abuse!!!!!!!!!!!

Small zoo site that is very poorly maintained. Walkways are covered with plants or broken. Animal cages are way to small and you can see the animals misery. Especially the chimpanzees were in a bad physical and mental shape... Gave me quite a depressive feeling but I heard they will be renovating it soon so I hope that will improve the situation.
