We (a family with two teenagers) booked a 3 day mobile safari. We spent the first night at Island Safari Lodge in a chalet and started our tour early in the morning. The guide Broken was great, very experienced with comprehensive knowledge about the african nature. We tracked down a lot of animals. Broken explained their behavior to us in detail, which made the trip a very interesting experience. Because of his entertaining nature the game drives were always fun and we felt safe the whole time. We went on many game drives, especially the one at night was extraordinary.

During our trip we were able to see all kinds of animals from a small distance, for example Leopards, Lions, Hyenas, rare Wilddogs, many Hippos, Elephants, Zebras and Antilopes.

The two nights in the bush were unforgettable. Thanks to a team of 3 people including the amazing cook Tsephang. We had an wonderful time at our camp and even enjoyed a bush shower. The tents were located directly at Mbudi-River, we were even able to listen to the noise of some wild animals while falling asleep.

The trip was the highlight of our Namibia/Botswana roundtrip that we would definitely recommend!

We went on the heritage blue ribbon safari's with the Island Mobile Safaris in September and they made sure this was one of the best moments in our life. Everything is arranged, the tents, the bush shower (love it!) the delicious food, the campfires everything to make our safari a little paradise. Then, the safari itself was unbelievable. Our guide Cisco is the best spotter there is, we have seen so many game! We had all the time in the world to make beautiful pictures, we where surprised every day and Cisco learned us a lot about the animals, nature and the stars.

Special thanks to Cisco, Towo, Tshepang and Judy for helping making this safari a very special one ;-)

We definitely recommend Island Mobile Safaris for the most special adventures in Botswana!

Love, Sven & Yvonne

What an amazing 6 day safari we recently For every experienced organised by Britt & Sean. Our campsite was beautifully set up on the banks of the Kwai river. William our incredible guide with eyes like a hawk was able to spot every animal around while we sat in luxury on the game vehicle with power points for every seat and a fabulous fridge to keep drinks ice cold. The camp staff were wonderful and the food was amazing. Roast chicken and freshly baked bread in the bush !!! Then onto Kazikeni where it was very dry but the night drives were on the next level. Phenomenal sightings. Thanks for an incredible experience.

Stayed for 3 days in the central kalahari with two excelent guides. They are the best!!!
Everything was arranged perfectly and had some incredible sightings of cheetah with cubs and a pride of lions with a giraffe kill.
Sisco and Sjapo (the guides) are full of knowledge and they know where to find the animals.

An extraordinary life experience, exceeding all expectations. Cisco and his team delivered 5 star service as they guided us through Chobe, Moremi and Kalahari parks finding all of the big 5 (and many of each), the ugly 5, herds and herds of; zebras, elephants, hippos, giraffes , springbok, eland and 4 of the elusive CHEETAH, many more animals as well and hundreds of birds. We saw it all. The guides would tell us about the behaviours of each - our learning curve was steep. Please note that one does have to have a bit of adventure for this trip, Glamping, very limited wifi, peeing in the bush, travelling on bumpy roads and having cheetahs, leopards, and elephants walk a couple of meters away from you . Accommodation was a combo of fabulous glamping and lodge stays. As we moved the ground crew moved ahead to look after everything to transform a camp area, into luxury accommodations, always looking after us. Our cook Sepa made sure that we had DELICIOUS and plentiful meals, served on white table cloths. The tents were large and complete with an en-suite with nature’s lighting. Every night we were memorized by the dark African night sky which exploded with the Milky Way and its stars. Left me breathless every night!
To celebrate the weeks-end we had happy hour while sitting on the wide open savanna at a dazzling sunset. Nothing can compare, that vision is embedded in my mind!

Thanks to Cisco, William and Mondesa who totally looked after us, anticipating what any one needed. We felt safe at all times. We plan on bringing our friends and family here in the near future to enjoy the splendour of Botswana!

Having had a sponsored delta trip fall through a few days before, I decided to do a solo trip whilst I was in the area helping with an SABC shoot. Island Mobile had taken us on a wonderful boat trip on the Thamalakane in Maun and I really respected their professionalism whilst having a lot of fun.

Booking was easy, the price was reasonable and on hearing Cisco would be taking the tour, I was sold! (Cisco had done our boat trip and was superb.) The staff were all wonderful to deal with, and they put together a fantastic itinerary that included both the Moremi and Khwai Concession overnight.

Having been to the delta as kid and having done many safaris in other places since, I have to say that this was one of the best.

We kicked off at 4.45am and even before sunrise we managed to see the rare cats civet and a genet before hitting South Gate. Passing into the Moremi we immediately saw a multitude of giraffe, with two of them engaging in a cinematic fight with their long necks and tufted horns. Around Xini area Cisco then spotted some leopard tracks, and through what I can only describe as magic, found a young female leopard relaxing in a bush. Following that, we happened upon a huge variety of antelope like kudu and impala, before running into a pride of young male lions sheltering from and panting in the heat towards third bridge.

We crossed third bridge and everything turned green, before passing an older female lion sheltering solo under a tree, before attempting a water crossing at 13:30. This however is when disaster struck - and we got well and truly stuck in a hole in the middle of the seemingly shallow 10m wide channel, with water flooding into the vehicle and killing the engine. I can't blame Cisco at all for this, it looked so shallow and it seems someone had been stuck there before and had churned out a big hole there whilst being rescued, and did not leave a warning.

With the water killing the radio, no signal available and no sat phone, we had to either hold tight for an undetermined amount of time, or hike the 3km back to third bridge where there was a Wildlife outpost. My only criticism of Island Mobile here is that we did not have a sat phone or spare radio, as if we had gotten stuck somewhere more remote we could have been in serious trouble.

However, using Cisco's guidance we made it back to the outpost safely, and through the help of a kind South African we managed to get the vehicle winched out of the water. Leaving it to dry, we then needed a mechanic to drain the flooded diesel engine. Xomae camp did not help us when asked, but thankfully a couple hours later Kwetsani offered to give us a lift to Xakanaxa where we could get a mechanic. By sunset we managed to get to Xakanaxa, and we managed to get to our drowned vehicle by nightfall. The mechanics were incredibly fast and got the Hilux roaring to life in half an hour even in the dark - we are so grateful to them and camp Xakanaxa.

With special permission from Wildlife to drive at night, we then high tailed it out of there to reach our destination at Khwai by midnight, spotting a leopard, hippo and two elephants in the road along the way.

In the morning we were up at 6 ready to make up for lost time. Meanwhile, one of the owners of Island Mobile had driven all the way to meet us, make sure we were OK and had adequate supplies. Thank you Shaun, the gesture was very much appreciated.

Khwai guest house stay was lovely but brief - but wow was the safari on the concession good. We were treated to a the antics of a hyena family with young pups, another beautiful leopard, and the splashing bath time of the elephants cooling down in the channel. On top of that, the sheer density of wildlife was on show, with herds of antelope and zebra, a plethora of stunning birds and birds of prey, as well as crocs and hippos.

Making our way back to Maun, we got hit by a magnificent thunderstorm before South Gate, after which we were lucky to see herds of elephant coming to drink from the puddles in the road, as well as 3 separate leopard tortoises, and a family of elusive bat-eared fox.

Overall, despite the mishap and the loss of one afternoon/evening to getting out vehicle out and fixed, I had a truly wonderful adventure in the delta. Thank you Cisco and thank you Island Mobile for such an unforgettable experience. I hope to travel with you again some time, just this time with a sat phone 😉.

We had a very enjoyable time on the Chiefs Island Day Trip arranged through African Secrets.

The tour group consisted of only 6 people, including us, allowing us to take lots of photographs of the wildlife and scenary. The guide was professional and a great driver, able to negotiate the channels well.

We saw a lot of wildlife, many birds but also elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, zebra and antelope - more than we expected to on a boat trip rather than a game drive.

It is a full day trip, including lunch, leaving at 8 am and returning near to sundown, meaning that you get to spend the whole day on the Delta and making the trip good value for money.

We booked a 3 day trip to Moremi game reserve.
Our guide, John was excellent he used to be a tracker on foot so he found us a lot of animals by following the tracks while driving around.
The whole experience was basically 3 days of round the clock game drives.

The staff (William and Leo) rode in before us to set up camp, upon arrival the tents had already been put up and a bush toilet and shower had already been erected.

We stayed 2 nights and both nights the diner was amazing, specially the second night they made a beef stew that I could hardly believe was prepared without the help of anything more than an open fire, splendid.

The game drives we went on were simply stunning we saw a huge amount of animals, my highlight was the cheetah that was spotted by our guide.
It was fortunate for us that the guide knew a lot about the birds too, as our group has a few people in it that are really interested in bird viewing.

It turned out that on this 3 day trip it was only our group and I must say we were really pampered.
However it was a bush trip, camping in tents, campfire at night no electricity which is what we wanted, we did not want the whole luxury bush thing.

I recommend this company to anyone visiting Botswana, 10 star rating

What a hidden gem Island Safari Lodge is! We we treated to great service, clean and comfortable room and a wide selection of tasty meals. Management and Staff were attentive and very friendly. Despite the drought and the river being dry, we enjoyed seeing a herd of elephants come to drink at a waterhole close to the lodge. I would recommend Island Safari Lodge to anyone looking for affordable and comfortable accommodation together with quality service.
