Great time in the sky in Maun!

My sister and I flew with Fondy. This was our first time ever in a helicopter and Fondy was funny, knowledgeable, and made us feel safe when in the air.

For someone who gets motion sickness easily, Fondy made our ride very smooth. The helicopter has open doors which added to the views and excitement.

An Incredible Experience

We had a last-minute opportunity to take a scenic flight, and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had. Fondy was our pilot- he was fantastic: professional, knowledgeable, happy to accommodate requests, and full of interesting information as we flew over the delta. There is nothing like seeing Africa from a heli, we will absolutely book with HH on our next trip.

Elephant orphanage and scenic flight

We took the scenic flight that visited the elephant orphanage - top notch all round. Our very enthusiastic pilot, Christian, was fantastic from the get go, he could spot animals well before we could and was great at making sure we got great views. The photos from this trip are stunning. I really do recommend the elephant orphanage - elephant haven - it was a highlight of our trip!

The best introduction to the Delta

The experience was absolutely amazing!!! Highly recommend to see the Delta by air before going on safari to truly appreciate the beautiful landscape and scenery from the air. It provide another perspective! Our pilot Tom was very informative and had a passion for his work.

The team in the office were super friendly and very helpful. Thanks for making the experience that little bit more special.

Incredible/highlight

An absolutely amazing flight. We had returned from doing a 2 night, 3 day tented trip in the Okavango. To see it from the air was incredible and gave you a different perspective to what is experienced on the ground. Our pilot Alex was wonderful, spotted so many animals, made sure we got to see it all and made for great photos. A definite highlight of our 4 week trip. Highly recommend doing this trip and having no doors made it an extra special trip.

Not to be missed!

This helicopter trip was a surprise for my husband and I, and we were so excited when we were dropped at the airstrip at Ker & Downey Shinde! Having travelled around the Delta on light planes, I thought the experience would be similar, but it was way better. There are no doors on the helicopter so you have unparalleled views of animals below. We saw an enormous herd of buffalo, giraffes and loads of red lechwe. Fondy was a great pilot, always cracking jokes and he made sure we had so much fun and saw the Delta from yet another perspective. A helicopter safari with Helicopter Horizons should be added to your bucket list. Our trip was a memory we will keep forever.

Stunning & Scenic Tour

Wow, what an experience! This was my first time taking a helicopter ride, and it was incredible. Helicopter Horizons is a unique and fun way to see the Delta. The pilots were very friendly and knowledgable. If you want to do something interesting or go to a place very few people have traveled, then book with them. It's a must do, and I'd highly recommend.

Scenic, comfortable and convenient

We travelled by Helicopter Horizons between lodges in the Okavango Delta and it was a very enjoyable experience. The heli picked us up near each lodge and quickly flew us to the next lodge while we enjoyed the different perspective of the delta below us. The equipment is modern and comfortable, although not much room for luggage if you are using for transport. There were only two of us and we travel light so no problem. Pilots are capable and knowledgeable about the area. Always arrived as promised and met our guides at the next destination.

I you have the change... don't doubt, just do it!! It is one of the best experiences of my life and definitely the best of this holiday. The helicopter has no doors, great opportunities to take some nice pictures, to enjoy the flight and the wonderful views of nature and wildlife. It was even better as expected. We did the 45 minutes flight because we thought that would be good/long enough. It is an expensive part of the holiday, but if I could do it again I would certainly go for a longer flight. The time was passing just too quickly, there is so much to see, 45 minutes felt like 5 minutes. If you have the opportunity I would recommend to take a longer flight. Very nice staff/pilots as well, they gave us information about nature/wild life during the flight.

This place came up on a search I did for flights over the Delta- thank goodness I chose the more expensive option than a plane flight . Like a previous reviewer I cannot express enough that this place has customer satisfaction written all over it. They treated us as human beings from the initial e-mail traffic to even being in their office on a Sunday afternoon when we arrived in Maun looking for directions and to ascertain timing etc before our flight on the Monday morning. My wife was very worried about riding in a heli without doors but from the moment we met the pilot we were immediately placed at ease. THEN we had the hour long flight and it was awesome. Go early or late for the best viewing we left at 7.15 am and the light was fantastic for photo opportunities of which there were LOADS. He gave us a brilliantly knowledgeable running commentary on all the game we saw and boy did we see a lot in an hour. The Delta was at it's highest since 2009 apparently and was something to see . I was so impressed I went back to their office to thank them and tell them all that it was easily the best experience I had had from an operator anywhere in the world and I have travelled extensively. My only regret was that I only booked an hour and we didn't have time for another fight so mark my words book 2 hours at least ! Thanks for the experience guys Mike and Leila Moore
