We booked Helicopter Horizons from home and made a reservation for a 1 hour flight with landing in the delta with champagne. I made once a flight over the delta and this was the second time. The check-in plus security at the airport was very easy (take your passport with you) and as we arrived at the helicopter the doors were removed for a better sight and making photos easier. The flying altitude is about 30 metres so you can spot the animals very well. We took the flight at 5pm so the light and the views were stunning. We saw a lot of animals and the pilot knew what he was doing. We landed in the middle of the delta what was truly unique because there is nobody around you, only wild animals. It is expensive but more than worth it, for the most a once in a lifetime experience which should not lack your bucketlist when in Maun!

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to review Helicopter Horizons. A scenic flight over the Delta via helicopter is truly one of the best ways to experience our beautiful wilderness. Being able to fly with doors off and a lot lower & slower does offer such a unique perspective. Early morning and late afternoon does provide amazing lighting, especially for the avid photographer. A champagne stop is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Delta from the ground mid-flight and of course spend more time with our experienced pilots. Thank you again for the feedback. The team at Helicopter Horizons

We booked a whole helicopter for 4 people for 45mins ($1120 usd) and loved it. Note that they can be booked as part of a shared group as well. We actually booked via Kavango Air (who do small planes) but the flight was with Helicopter Horizons. The team answered questions quickly and well which was great for planning, especially as it was such a long time before we were travelling and a large cost to book. We paid on the day via card. My partner and I have done many such flights, and think this was fantastic. We travelled with the in-laws who havnt been in a helicopter before, who also thought it was great. One is now convinced this is definitely worth the outlay of money, and will certainly book helicopters again. The windows were all off, making for amazing photography opportunities. The downside to this was the wind, though that’s not something that could ever be overcome! And I would definitely not alter the windows off to fix the wind. The pilot (Daniel) was excellent. He travelled low to the ground, allowing for great wildlife viewing without interfering with them. When spotted, we would hover near by, and Daniel would make sure both sides had a direct view over the region of interest. We were in a Bell Ranger, which has room for 6, so had lots of room, was very stable and could travel the distances required in the delta quickly to see a lot. We were here in a VERY dry season (Nov, pre rains, as part of a very bad drought), but still had an amazing view of the wildlife and water. Overall, loved it, and would consider doing it again. Definitely recommend.

Hello Krystle, Thank you for taking the time to review your flight, it's great to hear that you had a fantastic experience. We pride ourselves in offering a doors off experience with all guests receiving a window seat for that unrestricted view, and of course we have the utmost respect for our wildlife. Daniel is a real credit to our team and delighted with the feedback. This season we have experienced a great amount of rain with water levels in the panhandle area already much higher than last year, so we are looking forward to a good flood. Again thank you for taking the time & we hope to fly you again in the future, From the team at Helicopter Horizons

We had 2 opportunities with Helicopter Horizons and both were awesome. At Linyanti Bushcamp, Liam took us for a 30 minute scenic tour with doors off around Chobe. It was awesome and Liam was staying in our camp, so we got to talk to him quite a bit. Just a neat way to see things. We also arranged to transfer from Chobe to the Okavango Delta camp via a larger helicopter, flown by Jelmer. Great way to avoid those 45 minute rides from airstrip to camp. We even stopped midway for champagne. Great professionalism and insights from both pilots.

Hello Darren, Thank you for taking the time to review us. I have passed on your feedback to the pilots, both Liam & Jelmer are delighted, very much appreciate. We are very fortunate in a helicopter to be able to break up the journey with a remote champagne stop and of course to land closer to camp. Thank you for choosing to fly with us twice, we are so glad that you enjoyed your experience. Kind regards, The Helicopter Horizons Team
