It sometimes takes a lot of time patience to see the big five but we managed to even though our view of the rhino were just the head and horns running away from us through the bush.

You see all animals possible, except cheetah, rhino or oryx. But wow, really amazing. I would repeat if I had the opportunity.

We have been going to the Okavango and Moremi GR for 20 years now and find it among the more beautiful and pristine places in Africa. The Botswana govt has done a good job of limiting access so that it does not seem overcrowded.

The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced
boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season. The Khwai area offers the same wildlife experience as the reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives.
The waterways are home to numbers of hippo and crocodiles as well as a multitude of waterbirds. Other birding opportunities are spectacular, with a list of 450 recorded species in the area.

Moremi was a wonderful National park rich with absolutely every animal you can imagine. From Leopard to Lion, we even chased Wild Dogs on a kill but sadly lost them. The next morning, we found about 15 of them with 4 pups, sleeping across the track we were driving on, full stomachs after eating half the Impala that was beside them! Truly magical. Dont miss Moremi!

... but not necessarily close up. Since it's a National Park you cannot go off road so that does mean some sighting will not be as close as one would like. That doesn't mean you would not have an exciting experience but if going for photography bring your best zoom lens.

We went to 4 different Game reserves/ National Parks and Moremi was our favourite. Secluded and many animals. We heard lions, Elephants and hippos every night and saw all those and more. Going with an organised tour is definitely worth it, as the truck drivers all stop to talk to each other when we pass by and we were told the location of animals (including Wild dogs in their den), which we would never have seen if we were driving ourselves.

Fabulous game viewing in Moremi Game Reserve - so many elephants, hippos and other wildlife. A pride of lions wandered past our camp. Just beautiful.
