We stopped there on a day trip up the East Coast from Luganville. The driver had warned us that due to the recent rains that maybe Matevulu would be muddy. He was right. We left and went to Nanda blue hole and it was unaffected by the recent rains.

A little way out of Luganville, the Matevulu blue is an amazing spot! My daughter and I kayaked from the blue hole to Oyster Island and it was so serene and beautiful along the river. Awesome day trip to make! The kayak is not short but totally do-able and the surroundings are just breathtaking!

Worth knowing that there are 2 places marketing as the Matevulu Blue holes. The "big" one further upstream is completely dead, brown and dirty. Heavy rains will push this mud down stream. Nanda "Jackies" Blue hole is a safer bet.

picture perfect! unfortunatley it had rained heavily the night before which pushed all the mud down river causing the water o be a little dirty but that didnt stop me! With plenty of room to swim and two rope swings to swing off there is no shortage of fun for all ages!

This is an amazing waterhole with beautiful blue clear water. It's not flash, but is a great spot. I'm a bit older and enjoyed my swim, but younger people and kids were having a better time on the rope swings and snorkelling.

We spent a few hours here and had a great time. The kids loved the rope swing into the crystal blue water. There were also places to lay on the sand and just relax. There was a little hut selling drinks and snacks. $5 entry fee. Fairly good for a cool spot to relax.

It's really blue and clean. You may look at it, swim in it, jump into it. Usually it is quiet place with no more than several people. If you stay in Oyster Island resort, you can get here on kayak by the river. Entrance is VUV 500 per person.
