There is a lice landing area to view one section of the Blowholes. Sometimes locally called Whispering Holes because of the sound it makes. Locals set up tables to sell souvenirs here also but not too pushy. There is also a toilet at this location and plenty of parking. On our visit the water was not rising very high and possibly due to a calm sea or wrong tide level. These blowholes stretch a long way along this coast. If you have never seen this sort of natural attraction it is worth the visit.

Along a long drive around the island we arrived here at 4.30pm. Met with amazing views up and down the coast. Incredible terraced pools & blowholes that were surreal to watch. After walking along the rocks we decided to climb down into the pools to swim & stand by the blowholes. Was a bit of a challenge, swimming shoes a must! Rocks are sharp & jagged to climb up/down & reasonable strength/agility is required. Being in Pools was the best experience we’ll never forget. Take a waterproof camera to capture up close & walk carefully holes everywhere. Don’t miss this wonderful location on your travels. We spent about 1.5 hours here so don’t rush it.

There is 4 miles of coastal blowholes which are spectacular and go for as far as the eye can see.
It was like a domino procession of water spraying up into the air, synchronised as it moved down the coast and then started all over again.
If you decide to go down onto the rock, take care as its slippery and the coral cuts hurt.

We caught a local bus to the blowholes. the locals at the bus station will direct you to the right bus and the bus driver will tell you when to get off. It just a short walk down to the sea when you get off the bus. It is about 40 minute ride and you will go past the Royal residence and see quite a few sights on your way.

Usually when you say blowhole you mean one. Here you have a variety of small ones and large ones The wave action is constant and they are continually blowing.

Clearly signposted from the road through Houma and accessible by road with superb views just steps from the parking area. Don’t rush, you’ll want to enjoy the spectacle for more than just a few minutes. The blowholes extend for more than a (hikeable clifftop) kilometre to the west of the car park. Take sturdy footwear as the rocks are craggy. Handful of souvenir sellers commented business has been slow in the wake of Gita. Visited at 5pm and we had the entire place to ourselves - the only tourists there.

It was fun driving out to the Blowholes. Besides the Blowholes, you got to see some agriculture as well as some very nice homes.

Never had seen any blowholes, so it was interesting to see. It is a 20 min drive from the airport. I would recommend it.

Definitely a must do while in Tonga. 🇹🇴 The blowholes are seen all the way down the coast. You can get pretty close without actually getting in the water.

We did a trip around the island and this was on our 'to see' list. We wished we had longer, we loved the natural beauty of the place. Some of the waves were very high and you can get wet in the viewing area. If you get chance, call along the coast at beaches too - there are some lovely ones.
