This little church in the centre of town is angelic and beautiful. The hole area is like a fairytale, from a time long forgotten.

being of german ancestry. La Colonia Tovar St. Martin's Church was amazing. Coming from the USA, being on top of the mountain & seeing the rich atmosphere trapped in time brought me closer to my roots than anything else I have ever done . The Church was just aw struck that it still stands & every pillar & detail is... More

Good place to o if you are on Colonia Tovar, but it isn't a must to go if you came to Venezuela. Overall all good. Ps. Be carefull with the tourist help desk that was near to the church, my experience is that they are not happy to help. Don't know why they work there if they don't smile or... More

The entire town is like a fairytale. Very nice architecture, beautiful properties, great German hospitality and food, and great views of the valley and mountains.

If you are in Colonia Tovar, stop in this historical church. It has interesting architecture and history, but beware that there isn't going to be someone giving any tours. The whole area is self guided. I didn't get to enjoy it much because I was so sick from the car ride to the city. Vomit comet anyone?? What a horrible... More

Getting to the Colonia Tovar was a easy 2 hour drive from Caracas. Once there, you are surrounded by beautiful German architecture including the San Martin church. The restaurants were good as well. We ate German and Polish sausage that was excellent. It gets a little cold there if the rain starts falling so be sure to bring an umbrella... More
