I had an amazing three days in the Uyuni region, and the tour was exceptional. Our guide, Alejandro, was not only amusing but also incredibly meticulous with every detail. He assisted us in securing our bus tickets back to La Paz and immersed us in Bolivian culture.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it

We made the 4-day tour with Estrella agency. Our guides Herbert and José were fantastic. The beauty of the landscape is sublime, the tour well organized. We still have to do a lot of cars in small trails but it is worth it. You should not have high expectations for hotels and food. It’s pretty basic but the price is really low so we get a lot for our money

I booked the tours of Salar de Uyuni and also Atacama with the company Estrella del Sur Uyuni Bolivia. This company with its partners Salt Dream Travel Uyuni who served us spectacularly on the Salar de Uyuni tour and the company Travel Uyuni Premier who served us wonderfully in Atacama. I was very surprised by the responsibility, kindness, organization, punctuality, kindness and attention to my entire group - a large family of 13 people. Great hotels in Salar, excellent food, guides who were super kind and careful with everyone. In Atacama we took all the tours already scheduled through Estrella del Sur Uyuni Bolivia with its partner Travel Uyuni Premier, who responded promptly to all our requests, and even gave us a great surprise on the astronomical tour with a beautiful and delicious birthday cake, three people of the family celebrated their birthday on that date. Thank you Raul for your patience and kindness in meeting all the requests of this large family. All the tours in Atacama were wonderful, we were accompanied by the guide Valentim, who always surprised us with his information and experiences on each tour. Thank you very much.

Booking process was straightforward: I booked and paid a deposit on the website and paid the rest in cash in Uyuni. We were in contact via e-mail and WhatsApp and it went well, but it is good I speak some Spanish. Other people in my group did not have a smooth experience, possibly because of the language barrier.
Our guide, Simi, was not really a guide. He was more like a driver who also told you a bit about the places. His English was limited, so a few people in the group were not very happy. But he was friendly and drove safely. The car was also in very good condition. However, I noticed other groups were getting much more detailed descriptions of the places. I also suspect they paid more though.
The accommodations were very good, though the water heater in the last accommodation did not function. Food was decent throughout the trip (as much as it can be in isolated places like the ones we visited).
Overall, I enjoyed the trip and would recommend the company, but they have to improve a few things. It was still worth it for the price (we paid $150 each).

Overall, the tour was great. I booked a tour to Uyuni from San Pedro de Atacama. The other 5 people who went on tour with me were super nice so that added a bonus to the experience. Our guide, Ronald, was great. Ronald was always taking care of us and told us a little bit of each place we went. Also, he made sure to carry dressings such as ketchup and mayonnaise for our food and he always provided water and coca-cola for us. Ronald is an experience driver and tour guide in Bolivia with more than 10 years of experience. He went far above than we expected taking the best videos and photos we could have think of. I felt completely safe with him driving us around.
The food was healthy and delicious during the trip. The second day we even had wine during dinner!
The only downsize of my trip was that when staying in the hotel from the agency (Tambo Loma) during the second night, they offered a private ensuite bedroom for each of us but didn't gave us the keys to the beds. I'm not sure if they didn't know that giving you a key of your bedroom is a must. Either way, when I asked for my bedroom's key, they gave me the wrong one so I was locked outside my bedroom and it was awful because I had all my belongings inside. For that reason, I asked for help and a new key but they didn't have one. I had to wait for several hours without an answer and when it was getting late, I decided to ask again. They didn't have an answer and they wouldn't solve my problem since the person in charge was not currently in the hotel. That person was not able to get to the hotel neither so I had no place to sleep, I didn't have my belongings and no apparent solution. The only way we think of was to force our way into the room, and they were okay with that but they didn't offer help so a friend broke the door handle and we could enter to retrieve my things. Then, the current hotel employee gave me another room but, in this one, the bathroom didn't have access to water. So again, I had to move. Thankfully, one of my fellow travellers offered to share her bedroom and double bed with me. The following day we checked out at 5:30 am because we had to go to Incahuasi Island to see the sunrise. That way, no one apologized to me or even cared if I have had a good sleep.

We booked our 4 days / 3 nights Uyuni tour from San Pedro to Uyuni with Expediciones Estrella Del Sur (over the Howlanders website). The tour was very well organised, the program was full of great activities and everything was on time. The food was also great and they took into consideration my vegetarian preferences. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had an incredible experience doing the 4 days/ 3 nights Salar de Uyuni tour thanks to Estrella del Sur and our driver Crispin. From the beginning on, it felt right to book the tour with this agency as they explained the tour to us in detail. We always felt save, enjoyed the stays in the hotels which are really nice and saw incredible landscapes. The food was basic but good. We highly recommend to choose the agency estrella del sur and ask for Crispin as driver :-)

We did the 3D, 2N tour from spda to uyuni.
We had a really good experience with a great knowledgable Spanish speaking guide named Elias that was a mechanic and a chef, he provided great vegetarian friendly food and took us to hidden corners that no other tourist were at.
We felt special and he had a really personal approach with our whole group. He helped us take cool photos at the salt flats and repaired our flat tire in about 10mins and wasted no time, he stopped and asked at every photo worthy spot if we wanted to get out and take a photo or walk around. The vehicle was a really sturdy Toyota Land Cruiser. His driving was super safe and we never felt in danger, Elias made last Minuit decisions to change the route due to weather conditions and explained the reasons for his decision and was really safe. All the seatbelts worked well and he was always checking the mechanics of the vehicle.
The accommodation was definitely a step above the rest of the other companies with a private room on the second night with ensuite bathroom, hot shower and candles beside the bed and towels. Dinner was accompanied with a bottle of wine and the stars were out to then take night shots if you are into that.
The salt flats were something I never thought I would ever experience and was quite overwhelming. Our guide knew just where to go and what to do and that made the experience relaxing and I left feeling very content knowing we got everything we possibly could out of the experience.
When we arrived I Uyuni we spoke to the office and the helped us with further travel plans in Bolivia
Thanks for an unforgettable experience!
Good luck Elias for future tours!
Totally recommend!!

Overall we had a wonderful time, the only negative thing we have to mention is that Estrella del Sur (the company where we booked the tour in San Pedro) seems to have charged us too much. Must people seem to have paid 120.000 pesos, he charged us 130.000, so keep that on mind when booking.
But we had a very good trip with the Bolivian company which is actually called Tambo Loma. Our driver Pedro was very friendly and explained a lot of interesting things about the region and people. We felt safe at every moment.
The food was great, especially for us eating vegan it was a relief to find a company that offered tasty non-animal food !
The accommodations were far better than we expected, on both stops the hotels were very clean and warm, so we did not need our sleeping bags.
Highly recommend !
