I can't say enough about the company and our tour guide (Vladimir). From start the owner was very accommodating and responsive to emails, he quoted us a great price for a one day private tour. I was kind of worried because I booked the tour 4 months in advance and our only communication had been through emails. One day before we arrived Braulio confirmed our itinerary over the phone and offered suggestions regarding the check-in (since we arrived in the morning). At the office we did not have to wait for long, everything was handled fast and without problems. Then we met Vladimir (our tour guide), he was very helpful and provided a lot of information throughout the day. The tour included a meal which was delicious, and with so much food that we couldn't finish. Vladimir was an expert in the salt flats and took us to areas away from the crowds, he went above and beyond to meet our needs and to make our day magical. We can't wait to go back again, for sure I will be using this company in future trips.

We absolutely loved our trip to the salt flats and would highly recommend it. We booked with Andes Expeditions, our driver/guide Eduardo was brilliant and very friendly he took lots of cool photos for us at each stop. Although we booked the Spanish option as it was cheaper the other people in our car spoke Spanish and English so our guide spoke in English so we could understand also! As it is wet season we also got to drive through the water reflections which is incredible, like another world. The food and accommodation was actually really good. The only negative would be that we didn't stop at the reflections as we were going to stop at the sunset spot for some reflections photos however when we got there, there was no water (apparently the tour 3 days ago there was) it would have been really good to get some reflections photos as we were there during wet season so not many people get this opportunity, maybe we should have asked to stop earlier in the day as we drove throuh the water and there was definitely a chance for the photos.

We had an absolutely amazing and unforgettable trip with Andes Salt Expeditions. Our tour guide, Felix, was magnificent. He knew every fact about the places we visited and he even changed his route to make a special detour for us. He spent hours taking photos of us on the reflecting salt plains which turned out great, doing circles around us in his car to get an epic time lapse. He fixed everyone else’s car when they broke down and even bought us a bottle of wine when we ran out at the thermal waters! Absolute legend! A truly great 3 days - we would highly recommend going with this company, and hopefully you will get the same tour guide we had (although I’ve heard they are all great...)

I took the 1 day tour of the salt flats from Uyuni after reading good reviews on trip advisor (and they’re not wrong).

We set off at 10.30am with our driver Jose (more on him later).

We first visited the springs and then the cactus island where we had a fantastic lunch.

Then we took some amazing pictures in both the dry and wet part of the flats (you won’t always be able to see wet spending on time of year).

Jose was an excellent driver, very safe and most importantly a great photographer. He lies down on the floor to perfect our pictures and has some amazing picture ideas. The salt flats are busy and sometimes I’ve heard other tours where you end up next to other people, however Jose knows the flats very well and took us to the most secluded and beautiful places.

Finally he took us to the salt museum and a perfect spot for the sunset.

Some companies will do similar tours but the drivers are what makes it and Jose was excellent and would definitely recommend.

We took the 3 day/2 night tour, guided by Blas the magnificent. We had an initial problem with lack of seatbelts in the car but Andes Tour was happy to swap cars. Blas was Spanish and while none of us in the group were very strong Spanish speakers, we still managed to build a relationship with Blas who was very considerate of our limited language ability.

We never felt rushed as Blas was very generous with the time he gave us at each stop. He was very good at taking photos and brought a dinosaur prop for the shoot. He also knew how to take wonderful panoramas and reflection shots.

The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it, and we played music in the car ride between each stop and had a wonderful time.

Thank you Andes Salt Expeditions and Blas for this magical once in a lifetime experience!

I participated in the 3-day tour to Uyuni. The hotels/hostels/accommodations (I didn't even know what the exact words to describe the place are) for the first night and second night we stayed were awful. Firstly, we requested and were arranged in triple room with private bathroom. However, the bathroom never had a "bathing" function. Specifically, the first hotel offered water but no hot water and the second hotel didn't provide water as well as hot water. Secondly, the hotel manager and staff did not have any service mindset. For the first hotel, we couldn't find ANYONE when we saw the issue. For the second hotel, the staff just ran away without taking any responsibility. The manager tried to solve but ended up running away as well. The manager didn't even come with any apologies till the morning that we left.

I understand some people came here for backpacking experiences, but as a light traveler who cares about essential room functions, I would never recommend staying here AT ALL. If the tour operator wants to operate the business sustainably - Please change their quality of service of these hotels or change the hotels you cooperate with.

I found Andes Salt Expeditions on the internet while I was already in Uyuni and frantically looking for tours. Since I didn’t stay in Uyuni town, I didn’t have access to Tour Offices unless I took a taxi for 30 minutes from my hotel. I messaged Braulio on WhatsApp and he was very helpful and immediately messaged me back although it was around 10:30 at night. He discussed back and forth for an hour or so and gave me a package for the very next morning. I was so thankful to him because I was worried that I had to leave Uyuni without getting to do a tour as I only had 2 days. I got a private tour with Elmer, the driver and Elvis my English guide in a land cruiser. They were not only both wonderful and resourceful but also very nice, patient and flexible. They stopped and help me take pictures along the way. Elvis took many wonderful pictures for me and used all his special photography skills in capturing the beautiful shots. Elmer has great driving skills and precisely maneuvered through the rough narrow roads on our way to see the pink flamingoes. I am so thankful to all of them is making my trip to Uyuni so memorable. Thank you Andes Salt Expeditions! I highly recommend everyone to use this tour company and get Elmer as your driver and Elvis as your English guide.

Was a great beautiful overall experience. Soon as I got on the car Jose Losa explained everything well in detail. When perspective photos were being taken by group and individual he coordinated well with instructions along with taking professional prospective photos by Jose Losa. He even came along with a dialogue to say who wants to act to set up a scene for a photo and I acted #Andres and he said I did a terrific job. Well the Isla Incahuasi was fascinating, breathtaking !!!!! You can see all of Salar de Uyuni from this island, . You arrive pay 15 Bs then hike for about half an hour not to strenuous it's moderate but from their you can take wonderful photos and see whole landscape of Salar de Uyuni

We had such fun on our one day tour. Blass, our guide was fantastic. He was patient, made us all laugh with his humorous ways, and the lunch was delicious and well prepared. The photos and video he took were amazing and we had such a laugh. We were all so impressed with how he managed to drive and take a steady video! We all felt completely safe with his driving. We decided to take the tour in Spanish, a few of us had basic Spanish and that was good enough. Blass was knowledgable and where more information was needed about the island we visited he gave us a little guide book to read with excellent and succinct information about what we needed to know.

In sum a brilliant day had by all!

Had a wonderful few days exploring the salt flats, deserts and lagoons of the Andes as part of a 4 day private tour with Andes Salt Expeditions. Everyday I thought the view couldn’t get any more dramatic, but everyday we saw new highlights and scenery like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
So first off, we decided to do a private tour because we figured we could tailor our itinerary, spend more time in some places and less in others etc. Andes Salt Expeditions and our guides were very flexible and helpful with this. At no time did we feel rushed or pressured to move on and the route we took minimised turning up at the same time as everyone else. This meant that on some days we didn’t see any other tourists at all!
We saw so many things and there are too many to detail them all, but a few of the standouts for me included:
The train graveyard, I was expecting one or two rusting steam engines, but seeing them stretch to the horizon was another thing.
The Salt Flats, of course! Never seen anything like it in my life. Just vast, beautiful and empty.
The Siloli Desert, and staying in the Hotel del Desierto Ojo de Perdiz. It looked like part of another planet, and staying in a tiny piece of civilization there was magical.
The whole thing was brilliant and our guides (Abel, Israel) and driver (Oscar) were awesome and made the experience. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining, and they went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had a good time. For example, Israel and Oscar insisting we get good photos of the night sky and spending time in the freezing cold getting the camera setting right, while we stayed in the warmth of the land rover. Or when Abel spotted a hole in the Salt Flats so stopped to find us a beautiful salt crystal. They also took good care of us, from bringing along a gas heater for one of the hotels which didn’t have any, to making sure we got across the border with Chile at the end, when it looked like it was about to be closed due to bad weather. All in all they did a top notch job - thank you very much guys!
