I was looking for a different way to go into the Salar de Uyuni avoiding all the massive flow of tourists from with Uyuni as starting point and I get to know the trip was also possible from Tupiza. I contact with La Torre tours prior my arrival since they recommended to ask in advance since tours were not constant in low season (when I was traveling). From the very first email I had a great sensation about the company. Once in Tupiza, they were really professional with the organization respecting the number of people traveling on each car, security, etc. They have a hotel were I stayed one night before starting the tour to El Salar and National Park which is quite comfortable. Th trip around the National Park was spectacular. If you have the opportunity, ask for Clemente as driver, he is great and Porfidia as cooker, also amazing. Clemente was not only a great driver but also an incredible tour guide explaining everything about botany, geology, culture, history and politics. La Torre organize the tour in a way that you arrive to several of the view points in a different moment than the big crowds, making the experience purer. Clemente was willing to stop when some nice cross away us even if it was not totally scheduled always without loosing track of timing. It has been already two years I visited the place and I am still remember it as a awesome experience.

Wow! Well this tour was amazing from start to finish. Principally due to our amazing 'driver' (actually so much more - guide, photographer, Spanish teacher, etc!!) - this was HUGO, I don't know if you are able to specify a driver when you book the tour but if you can I would really recommend you ask for him. I have only very basic Spanish yet due to Hugo's communication skills I was able to understand and learn a lot (and actually he does speak enough English to give the required info but for me, gaining confidence in a bit of basic Spanish was a great opportunity in itself). Also Hugo was patient and the tour allowed us to spend as much or as little time as we liked in each destination. The admin people in the office explained this to us at the start and were also helpful in giving info in English and smoothly arranging payment etc. However we spent time with other tour groups with the same company who just didn't get quite so lucky with the driver and they didn't seem to get the laid back, happy smiley patient kind HUGO that we did! The tour itself is amazing and leaving from Tupiza is highly recommended. You get to see crazy rock formations, swim in hot springs, see geysers, and all sorts, before you even get to the salt flats! Our cook was also fab and provided us with 3 square meals a day which were all 100% vegetarian (upon request, obviously). Triofonia (sorry that may be bad spelling!) the cook was smiley and happy and kept the mood jolly. The Jeep was comfy and safe with functional seat belts. And Hugo offered to let us put on our own music for the ride! Hugo also helped us to make the best salt flat photos which I don't think we would have managed without his assistance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! THANK YOU SO MUCH HUGO!

Wow what a fabulous place, in every way, With La Torre Tours we saw the beauty and scale of Bolivia, we ate proper Bolivian food, we had a huge amount of background on Bolivian politics, religion. geology and the ways of Bolivian life from our guide. Our tour was professionally organised and easy to book. Our onward bus tickets were even booked for us! All in the budget package. We traveled with some really fun people which helped! Having booked the tour, we were given a partial refund as there were 5 in the jeep, not 4. Our approval was asked for in adding the extra person, we could have declined. If you can, request Raoul as your guide. This man is a legend, You may have to pay more as he is an excellent English speaker, Much of our enjoyment was down to this humble man of great knowledge and wisdom.

My husband and I (32 & 34 yrs) had a great time recently with La Torre tours. We did the 3 night/4 day tour and were joined by another young gentleman from Wales. Our drive & guide, Carlos, was an absolute legend. He was an absolute delight to do the tour with - he gave us great info, kindly helped us practice our Spanish & looked after us so well (my husband got quite unwell and Carlos was a gem). Myself, my husband and our Welsh friend all turned out to be vegetarian. We were so happy with the excellent vegetarian food - lovely veggie soup, lentil stew, veggies, etc. Strongly recommended!
