Horse back ride around Tupiza (5h)
Jan 2020 • Couples
A beautiful trip through the astonishing western movie style nature around Tupiza with Puerto del Diablo and Inca Canyon.

Especially on the back of a horse that knows the way better than the rider ;)

Enjoy the 5-hour tour for an enhanced impression of the scene and profound experience of the ride.

Don't forget sunscreen and tight pants, if available. The tours start just a short ride with public transportation out of the city.

The horses were behaving very well in clean and well fed shape and equipped with quality sattles.

Recommendation!

Beautiful walk
Dec 2019
We took a tub-tuk to the start of this walk. No tour needed. But go early. It was crazy hot walking. Bring plenty of water. We arranged for the tub-tuk to come back for us 3 hours later. Each was was 15B.

Amazing landscape
Oct 2019 • Solo
The first part of the walk is not very nice as you pass a lot of rubbish.
After you have to turn right, I double-checked on Mapsme as there are no signs, the rubbish stops in general. The stone formations are incredible. I passed the Puerta del Diablo and went to the Cañon de Inca.
It's pretty dusty though be aware and dont wear open shoes.
I took me roughly 1,5 hrs return

La Torre Tours and horseback!
Jun 2019 • Family
I highly recommend visiting this place on horseback, arranged by La Torre Tours. The young man with the horses, just outside of Tupiza, is a wonderful horseman who will guide you safely through the canyons.

DIY drive with rental 4x4 around Tupiza to Puerta del Diablo and surroundings
Jun 2018
Part of my travel in rental 4x4 trough Bolivia, Puerta del Diablo and surroundings are a formidabel site to explore, also possible on foot or bike (or with travel organisations in town). Not much information available if you want to do this on your one. Leaving town you pass the ugly city dump before arriving at the wonderful sites with great panorama's of stone walls, canyons and Peaks. Even better in sunset light.

Great Walk!
Mar 2019 • Solo
I really enjoyed the walk to the Puerta del Diablo. You feel like you are transported to another planet. It is not a tough hike and there is plenty to explore around Puerta del Diablo! The landscape includes tall red hills covered in cactus, a path where the water runs after it rains, Puerta del Diablo with beautiful views through the rocks as well. Make sure to bring water and sunblock as it can get a bit hot out there and there is no access to water.

I took horseback riding tour with local family that lives right next to entrance
Sep 2017 • Couples
I recommend you to go in horsebackriding tour.. it was lovely and sunset was umbelievable when seeing all those rocky mountains turining bright red. Local families explain better, have better prices and will take over all better care of you than taking a fully booked tour with the touring companies there. This is all my opinion

Incredible canyon
Aug 2018 • Couples
We were incredibly impressed with this canyon which we visited today with a lovely guide called Gabriella organised by Tupiza Tours. It is well worth going with a guide as they take you to the correct location which is not easy to find. The rocks are totally unreal with hard conglomerates that don’t crumble though they look like just a jumble of stones and pinnacles. Take lots of water even in the winter as the canyons offer little shade.

STUNNING
Apr 2018 • Couples
This is an amazing place to visit when in Tupiza. Beautiful and contrasting landscape that can be viewed by vehicle, horseback, motorbike or hiking. The rock formations and colours are truly something to behold. The only negative that I could speak about is the trash that is often visible. I found it ironic however that some signs address tourists not to litter, when tires and car parts are most visible.
