A really well thought-out and arranged museum. Spotlessly clean, and well-labelled - though mostly only for German-speakers. However the very helpful part-time curator, Mike, is there to explain in both English and Afrikaans. Well-worth a visit at an extremely modest entry fee
This small museum covers nearly all aspects of Lüderitz and surroundings. Allow some time for it (ca 30 min), as the value lies in the small things that you tend to miss if you rush through it.

This museum was truly fascinating for its marvelous diverse collection of everything Lüderitz and everything Namibia. You'll find everything from minerals to fish to bird eggs to German colonial history to diamonds. Small museums like this are increasingly rare and definitely worth a visit!
It is only open from 3.30 to 5 in the afternoons but is definitely worth a visit. It is an amazingly eclectic mixture of old photos, relics, stuffed wildlife and everything in between and gives a wonderful picture of this fascinating and unique town.

The museum has some interesting facets from the region and town - but is incredibly old and in desperate need of a coat of paint and refresh. Also only open for 90min a day - be careful when you visit!
