We had a really nice boat ride and the captain was very friendly. The hot chocolate and blankets were a thoughtful extra. However, it's very expensive in my opinion for what you see (for a student at least!). Despite that there's not a lot to...More

Nice boat ride. Positives: blankets, hot chocolate. Negatives: cold, wildlife far away, price may be slightly too much. Advice: if you've never seen penguins, seals or dolphins, then get all your warm clothes(seriously) and go. If you're on a tight budget; or have seen all...More

Heiko runs a great outing and going on his boat is what responsible tourism is all about. This is an insight into continental Africa's largest Marine Protected Area, you will see a lot of interesting things and learn loads a must do in Luderitz.

I think that this is the only cruise operating out of Luderitz, and this means that these guys have the monopoly. They don't abuse it. It's a simple operation (catamaran) but they really look after you - blankets if you are cold, lots of seating...More

Always good Heiko is not only knowledgeable and informative he is also a great supporter of coastal conservation and supports the monitoring of seabirds and mammals.

We had a wonderful journey and enjoyed the facts and figures and history and current events Heiko was so willing to share. Dolphins traveled along and sea birds, seagulls and flamingos made our morning special. Heiko offered tea and coffee at sea. When it was...More

I had a great time seeing the Dolphins and penguins. Family was cold and stayed inside the cabin, so it wasn't too fun for them.

Unfortunately for us the morning we had booked our tour was covered in thick fog which did not lift. The water was very rough and it was cold and windy. Heiko was a great host and gave us some good local knowledge. Beware he leaves...More

Heiko and his assistant operate the catamaran, Zeepard, from the Luderitz waterfront. They depart at exactly 08:00 (so make sure you arrive on time!) and it costs N$400 per person. Get there early (07:45 'ish) to make sure you get first pickings of the seating...More

It was an average boat ride. With an informative little chat from the captain, and all went smoothly. Definitely, in a small place like Luderitz, an interesting thing to go do for a morning and seeing whales was fun!
