    What a buzz!
We got to see this waterfall from above, below and behind! Walking behind a massive torrent of water was incredible and not for the faint of heart.

A short boat trip across from our accomodation at Waku lodge are these falls. Up a few stairs and you can walk between the cliff and the water. Interesting but we were there for Angel falls!

I visited the Salto Sapo Falls as a part of a whole excursion to the Canaima National Park. We arrived at the falls by boat and then we walked through a narrow path to get there. When we reached the beginning of the Falls we left our belongings and we went on in order to pass behind the curtain of the fall. The sensation was unique, I haven't experience anything like that before. The water was coming down with such force. It was amazing!!!!

I planned my trip to Venezuela just so that I could see Angel Falls, and I must say that I think I enjoyed Salto el Sapo even more! We were able to get a view from the top of the falls, with a gorgeous rainbow and a table mountain (tepui) in the background. Then we went down and go to walk behind the face of the falls, which was a lot of fun: the water gets heavier and heavier until you're completely drenched, unable to see anything in front of you, and using the guide ropes to feel your way through. I was giggling like a child, it was so silly. And then when you get to the other side you can get a view from in front and below the falls. You don't just stand and stare at the falls: you get to have a dynamic experience with them.

The journey takes us behind the curtain of an adolescent falls. We glimpse true power. An inferno of blood red waters from the Gauja.

A surprisingly beautiful waterfall. You go there as a part of tour from your lodge in Canaima before you go to Angell Falls the next day

A unique experience! For the walk behind the Sapo Falls, be prepared to get soaking wet - a swimming costume is a good idea. The water is quite cold and can take your breath away. The walk can be a bit scary but there is a guide rope to hang on to. Take a waterproof bag for camera etc.
