Well just getting there is a whole adventure but once you are there the whole village of indigenous inhabitants will receive you. Then you have to walk around 45 minutes along the river to get to a cave with a fall inside it! This is absolute magic that is hard to describe. If you are a tourist the best way... More

Beautiful small Indian community in the south of Venezuela. Only accessible by private plane (you may charter) Walk down a small river and through mountain walls to arrive at the most beautiful water fall Red water from all of the minerals of the region. Refreshing and calming. Some tracking involved. Must go with a local guide

As others have mentioned, the park is magnificent, and the Kavak village of huts is very well placed for hiking and other recreational activities. The rooms are well-furnished, but no hot water is available, and electricity only in the evenings. The food is wholesome, but monotonous and starchy. While the general economic situation in Venezuela is near-catastrophic, when the balance... More

While waiting at the airport of Canaima I see the little Cessna appearing in front of me. The pilot climbs out and asks me to become his co-pilot. I feel like a school boy again. The next forty minutes I will never forget. Flying... and flying over this place on the earth is like a dream comes through. The landscapes... More

Our experience traveling to Canaima National Park could not be better!!! Was an unforgettable experience. agency: Kavac Rooms: comfortable beds, clean restroom. Advices: flight early to Canaima. Request to do first "salto del sapo" and Angel fall for second day Food is limited so if you could bring with you some food type camping is better. A good coat is... More

We did this as a day trip combined with an overflight of Angel Falls. You start by hiking about twenty minutes until you come to a fats flowing stream. Here you leave your clothes and just continue in a bathing suit and socks to give you the best grip on the rocks in the steam. The guide takes your camera... More

We are just getting back from Canaima. The National park is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It's so untouched and its views are so breathtaking that if you ever doubted there's a god you will be convinced there's a major power somewhere by the time you leave Canaima. Kavak is the best example of it. Just... More

Stayed here for 1 night in Kavac at the Campamento Uruyen Lodge. Great location with fantastic scenery and a good starting location when you are visiting Angel Falls. Also went to Kavak Canyon as an optional excursion.
