This picturesque market offers a wide variety of fresh and local products for its visitors. It's nice and clean. A little overpriced for locals but you can find mostly anything. The vendors are friendly and helpful. Open from Wednesday to Sunday. It has its own parking lot below. Lots of people on weekends.

This market is the modern version of a traditional local fresh vegetables and fruits market of Caracas. It offers you a varety of products that makes grocery shopping a lot easier in Venezuela.

This is not a cheap market. In El mercado de Chacao you could find people searching for meat, vegetable and fruits, but also Venezuelan chefs and cuisine lovers looking for fresh or unusual spice, vegetables, flours, spicy and all kind of national or international exquisiteness, like organic cacao or Asian tea. It is a must to eat a snack when you go to this market, you can have an arepa de chicharrón (pork), an empanada, a fresh natural juice, a salad fruit, a delicious and hot Venezuelan coffee, or a chicha (rice drink). This a place full of friendly people. It is a costume that before Christmas, the chicha seller gives away on glass for the visitors.
There are two ATMs and boys who hire strollers for your shopping.

Great market to visit as a tourist or local. Plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, plus other items which can be tough to find in today's economy eg. feminine towels, rice, oil, toothpaste. You need to ask the store owners as these items aren't usually on display.

My family loves to go to Mercado Chacao. My husband and daughter start their visit by recycling plastic, glass and aluminum outside (not so many places in Caracas recycle so we're happy to have one). Then they get to work buying lovely veggies and then head upstairs to buy some bottles of freshly squeezed juice. While they're at that I buy chicken and then cheeses and then go to 2nd floor for sauces, nuts, chocolate, fruits and other items. We finish up with eggs, bananas and fresh flowers. The sellers are all friendly and helpful and the products are a good level of quality. An essential spot!

go up to the 2nd floor to find wheat flour, sugar, dish soap and powder detergent which are all things hard to find in Lecheria. The fruits and veggies looked gorgeous.

I know it is not common to prefer a market over a Supermarket. But in this case it is worth it. The market has two floors. On the first floor you will find the most appetite appealing vegetables, selection of cheeses, breads and crackers, teas and herbs and the best bananas and avocados. It also has a section for meat, chicken and fish. Everything very clean and each kiosk is managed by the owner so everything works. On the second floor you will find fruits, the best orange juice and many imported products. Do not miss the opportunity of trying an empanada (meat or cheese) they are out of this world. I went this morning and bought all the ingredients to prepare our very traditional xmas dish Hallacas.

I love this market place. It's clean, organized and well stocked. You can find everything here. Parking is difficult.
