LOVELY, IDYLLIC, romantic as hell! As always, please be cautious, go there in groups as large as possible, and avoid low-transit times, such as weekdays, and weekend afternoons.
That said, you can eat, you can play ball, dance, jump around, anything (wink, wink), as long as you don't (get caught, natch!) harm any of the plants or animals you might come across (if you do that, I'll hunt you down and make your life miserable).
BONUS: See if you can get a tour (ask at the entrance). Otherwise, just follow the signs translated into five languages by UCV students :)

Oddly located next to a major and always buzzing highway, this is THE botanical Garden of the City. It is adjacent to the Universidad Central de Venezuela Campus. And can be reached on foot by taking the subway and exiting in the PLAZA VENEZUELA station. Bring your own water and a sandwich and enjoy the vast array of greenery that you can enjoy any day in the year, since is in a perpetual summer. Used to be a perpetual spring but with free gasoline subsidized by the government and global warming it is now a perpetual summer.
Most interesting samples are identified and walkways are somewhat decent. Do check with their website for local hours.
Finally, try to make it either early in the morning. It is better to be off the area by dusk .
If time allows it, you can continue strolling to the CIUDAD UNIVERSITARIA DE CARACAS, on which you will see a fine example of superb architecture by the most famous Venezuelan architect of the XX century, the British born Carlos Raul Villanueva.

It is a nice "plaza", lots of families walking, children playing. By the side of the main Avenue, Francisco de Miranda, there are lots of restaurants around the area.

Lovely foliage, right next to the freeway so one thinks. Ehy not run there.

There is a reason: fleas everywhere. Avoid it at all costs, mainly if you take your dog!

It is nice to relax under the trees and to watch the exotic plants and flowers. I would recommend to walk there and get away from th estress in the city.

We enjoyed exploring these beautiful gardens. We went on a Saturday morning before it was full of people and so it was quite relaxing even though it is along the highway and in the middle of the busy city.
