This is worth spending a few minutes inside to admire the architecture of a typical cathedral in this part of the world. This one is perhaps not as impressive as some.

I Personally preferred la Iglesia de San Francisco( magnificent Barroque gilded altar) But here Simon Bolivar was baptised and married ( some close relatives are also buried here as well) Caracas is not Quito in terms of awesome religious buildings but this place deserves a visit with no big expectations

Small, rundown and seems like forgotten by whoever is in charge of historic sites. Nothing of value worth the visit. The neighborhood is one of most dangerous in Caracas so pick up a taxi and ask him to wait in the front door. Muggers are waiting around for the very few lost tourists visiting
