I had communicated with this travel company several months prior to my actual travel to Easter Island. I was provided with a customized 2 and 1/2 day itinerary by the representative. When I was ready to confirm and make payment for the same, there was no communication whatsoever, despite several emails. I had to eventually go with another travel company, which provided exceptionally great customer service right from my first communication. I will be providing a separate review on stargazing tour for which customer service was very professional.

We used Green Island tours for our Stargazing experience. We were picked up from our home stay residence and transported to the office for a comprehensive talk on Polynesian history; drinks and cake were provided. A small group of us, then took a mini bus to the Observation site. It was quite a clear night, but to be honest, Ive been lucky enough to sleep under the stars in many countries and this wasn't really any different. Obviously, I wasn't expecting different star views, so in that respect the experience was great and quite romantic. We then moved onto Anakena beach where the moonlit views were very atmospheric. We got back to our bed at about 2:00am, it was an interesting night and great to see the moi under the stars.

Doubly disappointed that they demanded payment for our full day tour with an English-speaking guide when we received neither. Since the "port" at Hanga Roa is a tiny rocky cove, the cruise-ship tendering was excruciatingly slow resulting in our long delay in arrival. Green Mountain Tours claimed the full charge for all day (though we would only receive a half-day tour) was necessary because they waited around for so long, (but contractually that's what that $40pp non-refundable deposit covered & other patrons on site were paying for half-day tours.) A very pleasant English-speaking guide to the volcano, a nice young man from the mainland, was replaced mid-tour by a French-transplant, (the non-English-speaking sister-in-law of the company's owner.) If you book with this company for your cruise destination, yes, the price is less than the quickly sold-out ship tours, but don't risk reserving an all-day tour when you might only get a half-day.

We were only visiting Easter Island for two days and wanted see as many of the sites as possible in the time available. We booked with Green Island Tours, from the UK a few months before we arrived. This was much easier than expected and responses were quick. The small group tour ensured that we got to see the main key sites, picking us up on time and educating us on the history of the Island. The transport was comfortable, Shane, the guide was excellent and we were taken to great stop offs en-route. We did a number of different tours with Green Island, including Stargazing on our first night. We had a lot we wanted to see and were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

I went to Easter Island 2 weeks ago. I did a tour with this company because I've heard they were one of the best ones on the island. Now, I have no doubt it is true. All the has been very professional and friendly. The person who attended me at the office was Paulina, who was very informative and took the time to explain to me all about the tours. The guide of my tour was Kava Pakarati, a very friendly, spontaneous and wisdom person. He was born in Rapanui so he was able to answer all my questions in all the different spots that we have visited as Ana te Pahu, Rano Kau, Ahu Akivi, among others. I totally recommend going with this company to discover Rapanui!
