Local guides, very caring and accommodating stuff and guides. Great tours. Great prices -it will not break your bank like most other companies . I had 3 different tours,2 different guides ,one awesome ,the other good. But...with that price -you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend.

We decided to do the full day tour for $20,000 Chilean Pesos. The tour itself was fine and the guide was nice. As stated in other reviews it’s not anything special and although our tour guide was nice they weren’t going out of their way to tell us much information. We had to ask a LOT of questions to get a conversation going at some of the sites. Overall, compared to the prices of some of the other tours on the island the price is good and gives you an overview of some of the history on the island. We did the tour and then rented a car to see the rest of the sites so I would recommend this too!

We booked a Kia Koe Tour though our hotel, Puku Vai. The tour was a private tour for two people for one full day and two half days. We were assigned Alejandro Tucki as our tour guide. I have been on many tours on four different continents. Alejandro was among the best tour guides I've had. Alejandro speaks Spanish, Rapa Nui and English. His English is excellent and easy to understand. He provides enough information about the island without bogging down with too many details. He allows you time to walk around the sites and reflect on them. Unlike many tour guides, he welcomes your questions and actually listens to them and engages with you. You don't feel like it's a job for him (although of course, it is) but rather that you are a guest on his island home. When I look back and think how much our experience in Easter Island was affected by having a great tour guide, I realize how fortunate we were to have had Alejandro to help make this lifetime trip come alive. I got the impression that tour guides on the island work for different agencies and may not always be limited to just one. If you have an opportunity to have Alejandro as your tour guide through Kia Koe or otherwise, I'd recommend it. (P.S. The next category below asks what sort of visit this was, but there's no category for adult parent and adult child. That's what we were so instead, I'm putting friends.)

As other reviewers have stated, this is not the best quality tour in terms of the guide. There was definitely a lack of enthusiasm and information from our guide, and yes, she was quite difficult to understand. However, I do not regret using this company. In fact, we used them for 3 different tours. For me, it is about getting to the remote locations and taking pictures. If I did not understand something the guide said, I just asked questions. If you ask your questions, you will get your answers during the tour. You can pay $260 USD for this tour through Green Island Tours, or you can pay $29 USD through Kia Koe. These options made my choice quite clear. I think charging $260 USD for a day tour is abusively high. This is taking advantage of tourists who feel the need to 'pre-book' their tours online from home.

Did 2 tours with the agency in August 2017. The guide had a poor English which made the explanations (the few we happened to have) incomprehensible. Another thing was that when compared to other tour guides, the explanation other people were receiving was so much more rich in details and history that it made my tour look dull and boring. I am not sure about you, but since I am not traveling to Easter Island on a weekly basis, I would strongly suggest you to spend a few more bucks and get a better experience rather than trying to spare some dollars (like I, unfortunately, did). I intend to back to the island in the future and have the same tours but this time w/ a different agency. Wish you a nice trip!
