We arrived in San Antonio de Areco for the express purpose of visiting renown silversmiths, Draghi. Dumb Americans that we are we did not know that the ENTIRE town shuts downs for siesta from 12:30 to 4:30 pm each day. When we found our way to Draghi they were in the process of pulling down the shades on their windows.... More

We got to see the silversmith working, some work in progress, and historical pieces in the museum. I wish our guide had given us more time, but it's very impressive

We were in Areco 5 days and this is the best place to shop for silver made items. We bought just a few things and we are very happy with the quality and prices we got for all items. You may shop in confidence, everything will be real silver. And very nice things.

This fascinating museum is family run and operated featuring some of the best silver smiths in the world. It is truly incredible to see what these artisans can create with their hands and just a few tools...in techniques that are harder to find every day. Get up close and witness craftsmanship at it's finest.

We enjoyed the 10-minute video with English subtitles to learn more about the history of the gauchos and their silver. Loved seeing the ornate silver belts.

Museo Draghi is a significant historical location with working silversmiths. We were treated to a short movie that touched on gaucho life and how silversmithing figures into the trappings and apparel worn by the gauchos. The museum is dedicated to the man who revived silversmithing in Argentina. We also had an English-speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and who treated... More
