Beautiful

Very nice hike along a beautiful nature, and then the Laguna is really breathtaking. Make sure to have enough time and be prepared you might soo the mountains covered in clouds, but it is really a beautiful area - strongly recommend to visit!

Long gentle trek with fabulous views to a freezing glacier lake
Sep 2020
This is a very good day out. It's not particularly hard going but it's long and in/out. Take food and water/filter, there is a stream along part of the way. Lots of excellent views along the route which meanders through woodland then becomes more exposed towards the top.

As always in these parts you are dependent on the weather, so plan to stay as long as you can at the lake as the weather changes every ten minutes and at some stage you will see the fabulous mountain peaks.

The wind coming down off the glacier is quite cold and the lake actually has icebergs in it, so have something you can wrap up warm in.

There is a backcountry camp site nearby, and I enjoyed watching the young lads wade into the lake to collect ice, then use it to chill their beers. Can't beat human ingenuity.

Amazing
Nov 2020
Amazing Hiking and ExperienceTo move there you have to take a plane to Buenos Aires (about 9 hours), another plane from Buenos Aires to Calafate (three hours more to the south). And finally in a vehicle (about four hours more) until chalten. All an adventure and an authentic Glacier at The End of the World. It is located in Los Glaciares National Park, in Argentine Patagonia.

The park is rugged & beautiful. We enjoyed every minute of our treks. I was very thankful that there were no altitude problems!

Easy hike compared to Fitz Roy with the same beauty

It took us 3 hours each way from town. Hiking trail has some up and down, but that not difficult. I think everyone can do it.

Great warm up hike
Mar 2020 • Couples
This hike can be done by anyone. If you arrive late and have limited days - even just try to make the first lookout. It’s about an hour up. Trail is in and out on same path and we went all the way to the lake. Make sure you have a wind breaker as the temperature dropped by the lake and the winds get forceful.

Amazing walk
Feb 2020
This walk is why we came to El Chalten. It is medium/easy walking with a bit of slight scrambling at the beginning. The path is clearly marked and you don't need a guide. The views were amazing. We did have good weather. The lake at the end is a superb place to have your lunch. We stayed in El Chalten and this was one of the highlights.

Oh What a Day!
Feb 2020
As a 69 yr old, this 11 mile RT hike was a bit challenging for me, partly because of the pace set by fellow hikers and our guide. However, our guide sent the "young sprites" ahead which allowed my husband and me to slow down and enjoy the walk. While I enjoyed the company of our guide, I would have preferred to do this hike ourselves so we could go as slow as we would have liked. I felt pressured to keep moving. But...I made it to Laguna Torre and was proud of my accomplishment. Blue skies afforded us a most magnificent spectacle.

Nice hike and good to see ice
Apr 2019 • Couples
Good 9k treck to a lovey yet windy lake with icebergs floating in it. Water colour is brown mainly for anyone wanting crystal clear pictures but it’s still pretty spectacular. The walk it self is fine, few hilly bits with rough terrain but much easier than Del Los Tres.

Excellent walk and views
Feb 2020
The walk out to the Laguna Torre is very pleasant and not to difficult, just long! Eventually the view unfolds to the glacier and lake. The lake has many floating lumps of ice. A more spectacular view of the glacier is found if you take the walk along the moraine at high level to the mirador.
