The adventure was recommended and organised by Walk Patagonia in El Chalten. Had great weather with a pleasant cruise across the lake to the starting point of the walk. An interesting short walk across a spectacular glacier worn rock to the glacier edge we we were fitted with ice grippers and instructed how to use them. The walk covered spectacular... More

ID#: 361475059 I had a very bad experience with them, and i felt cheated. We purchased an ice climbing activity and pre-paid for it. On the day of the expedition, we took a bus and then a boat to the glacier. When we arrived at the location in which we were supposed to disembark from the boat we were told... More

The glacier was not like how I expected, instead of all white and blue it was all black and brown due to rocks. However our guides did a splendid job, they made sure everybody was safe and enjoying the trekking on the ice.

Thanks a lot for your comments Nature is what counts on that details, and the colour of ice only depends on the way light goes inside it! (consider that Ice, like water, is transparent!). Volvanic ashes make some areas of the ice surface black, grey and kind of dirtry but when you know where all these ashes come from......., you... More

I booked a Patagonia Aventura ice trek on the Viedma in El Calafate. I arrived a day earlier than booked in El Chalten and the lady in the office suggested I go that day as the weather was closing in. I am glad she changed the ticket for me so I could go on the trek because the next day... More

Other reviews will tell you about the tour. The poor rating is based on business practice. I was quoted a discount for youth on the day prior, but on the day of the trip they denied the discount was ever offered. Later the sales person who quoted the discount admitted in front of manager that she had told me of... More

We did the Viedma gletscher trek with this company. The trek itself was ok, nice boat, friendly and knowledgeable guides and a nice cold drink on the end of the trek. However, we thought our group was too big and, mostly, to varied. While the brochure said one had to be in 'good physical condition' to do the trek, most... More

The most spectacular sight I ever saw in my life. A massive wall of blue ice out of the lake! The Glacier Mini trek didn't feel mini at all. We saw and experienced so much. The guides were super sweet, patient & kind. They made us coffee on the way to and from the peer. They let us stop &... More

Don't get me wrong. The glaciar is beautiful. It's worth it. But getting there is most of the trip. Especially if you're coming from El Calafate- it's two hours each way, which is fine, but not if you're thinking you're going to spend the whole day on the ice. Not at all. And this is not a physically demanding trip.... More

Thanks a lot for your comment. Is a fact that in Patagonia, distances are really huge and a 2 hours ride is a short one!!! We are glad you enjoyed the Glacier, the Viedma is fantastic!, and so is the lake. The trip from/to El Calafate is part of the Patagonian steppe. Regards More

We were interested in the Patagonia adventure tour -- Viedma ice trekking. When I asked them to check availability, they said yes it was available. After I emailed them all passenger information, including passport number, DOB, name, etc, they told me the tour was reserved for us and required my credit card to pay upfront. We booked a different tour with the company in El Calafate, the people selling the tours were really helpfull and informative.
