Cerro Madsen Ascent with Chaltén Mountain Guides

The ascent of Cerro Madsen was amazing. Juan, the guide was very motivating, experienced and flexible in time to ensure best conditions. He was patient and gave many very helpful tips. The arrangement of the tour and the support of Fernando was perfect and I could contact him any time. I can highly recommend Chaltén Mountain Guides and will for sure reach out for another tour when I am back in El Chaltén.

Mojon Rojo Trek

We had a great time with Chalten Mountain Guides! We booked the Cerro Solo trek but the weather conditions didn’t allow us to do it. We did Mojon Rojo instead plus a day of multi-pitch climbing which was a great alternative! They were also extremely flexible in re-arranging the days to make it work.

Our guide was Juan and he was super knowledgeable and fun. The first day we hiked up to a cave where we camped out for the night. The second day was the ascent to the peak of Mojon Rojo, and then descending and hiking back to El Chalten. We had an amazing time and highly recommend!

Unforgettable experience of the wild Patagonia

We went on the 4-day Huemul Circuit in February 2023 and we loved it. Communication with Fernando preparing the trip was fast and clear, and he even waited for us on the day before when our bus arrived later than expected. The equipment provided was perfect for the hike and the food was plenty and tasty. Our guide Matías made the adventure even better with his 20 years of experience and made us feel among friends. His assistant Lucas was always ready to help with a smile, even loaded with twice our weight in his pack. We absolutely recommend to do this circuit with Chalten Mountain Guides if you want a feel of the real Patagonia wilderness. Some hiking experience and general fitness help you enjoy the trail.

Expensive but worth it!

What an amazing day I had! I signed up for the full day climbing tour, and it was incredible. It was my first time climbing, and in the morning we started off with the basics, tying knots, learning how to belay, and climbing a 15 m wall. Gabriel, my guide, made me feel so safe and comfortable, teaching me everything I needed to know to progress. Then in the afternoon, we challenged myself and went up a 150m wall (paredón de los cóndores). I didn’t think I was going to make up the whole wall (and there was no pressure to at all) but I did it and I’ve never felt so great in my life. So grateful to have the full day to climb with an incredible guide and person. 10/10 would do it again

1/2 Day Rock Climbing - Great Experience

We had a great time rock climbing with Manuel!
Manuel took my girlfriend and I (who never climbed outdoor before) to two different climbing spots and he provided great advice to both of us.
Booking the activity was really straight forward and Manuel did an amazing job answering all our questions (he was also very responsive).
If you are looking for an outdoor activity in El Chalten, I would definitely recommend going with Chalten Mountain Guides :)

Highlights Trek

We had a great time on this trek. Manuel organized the trip and was very responsive to every question I had. Martin was our guide and took us on some great side trips. Food was great at camp. Thanks to Ellie and Theo!

Chaltén Mountain Guides was a great company! Arranging the tour with Analía was very easy and there was great timely communication. The trip with Mariana (our guide) was spectacular. She was very knowledgeable and very attentive of our needs at all times. Would highly recommend their services for any trips they offer in El Chaltén!

2 Day Ice Climbing on Marconi Glacier - Unforgettable experience

My two friends and I went with Manuel (the lead guide) to Marconi Glacier, and these two days were easily the highlight of the trip. Manuel was superb at managing risk and looking out for our safety, both during our approach to the glacier and while we were ice climbing.

Analia in the office was super responsive to emails and made planning really easy, and the food she provided during the two days was great as well. You won't regret working with Chalten Mountain Guides!

Exceptional service

I've been in touch with a couple of agencies for a very specific tour (la vuelta del hielo) and ended up with ECMG.
I have to say - although things unfortunately changed unexpectedly for all involved parties - Analía found alternatives to still make it somehow happen and satisfy me completely.

The contact with ECMG was always friendly, helpful and very informative. You don't feel like just being a number. We've been exchanging lots of mails, and I've got all my questions answered professional.

I would definitely book with ECMG again for the next adventure. Keep up the great work and the personal touch.
