My husband and I have been going to the Yukon for 21 years. We've been experiencing the call and the spell of the Yukon and this museum is always on our list of stops. It looks small from the outside but what a wealth of displays inside. You'll find wildlife in beautiful dioramas, native traditional clothing displays, and even a display of rocks, gems and minerals of the area. There is a nice clean restroom and a small gift shop. Outside the building are WWII artifacts and behind the building are reconstructed log cabins and a cache for food storage. There is also a log church nearby. What a gem of a stop. We discover something new on each visit.…

We visited Burwash Landing specifically to see the museum as we thought it would be interesting and we were not disappointed. The museum has an extensive display from history to wildlife. The taxidermy for the animals and birds is so well done that the animals- bears, foxes, caribou to name but a few come to life in front of your eyes. To have such a high quality museum in such a small community in the middle of the wilderness that is the Yukon is truly amazing. A must see when travelling on the Alaska Highway going north or south.…

From the outside you would not imagine the quality of the exhibits inside. We were extremely impressed. Well worth the time to stop and see.

The Kluane Museum is well worth the stop. It offers excellent and informative displays of both wildlife and First Nation history. Also, the gift shop carries exquisite moccasins, mittens, hats, and other items made by the local population.
