Stopped on our way to the Arctic Ocean sign. Bought some overpriced stickers, got some info, had a chat. Spent about a half-hour here. Not just a refuge from the mossies. Well worth a chat with some locals.
We met the most wonderful person in Tuktoyaktuk Visitor Centre. She was very friendly, kind and generous. She shared so many stories and ways of living with us, and told us about her family and friends and lifestyle. She made our journey to Tuktoyaktuk truly amazing.
We visited in June, Visitor Centre closed, it had been relocated to an unmarked hut off the road into Tuk before you get to the airport. We stopped at the point and were approached by a lady who charged us $20 to park and we also had to return the permit to the hidden away…
