This Shop, as with all other Visit Scotland Shops we visited was closed due to Covid. Whilst we apreciate there may be problems in opening certain premises, Visit Scotland should have been open throughout to advise re Public Toilets, advising which establishment were open etc. During these times and with the Government recommending staycations, we all needed advice more tham ever. Really disappointing.

I'm sorry you had such a disappointing experience.
Although we only reopened Ullapool iCentre on the 27th of July, we have been providing support to visitors and businesses throughout lockdown and phased reopening with staff available both by telephone and e-mail.
I can appreciate your frustration at not being able to speak to staff face to face when in Ullapool. We have tried to strike a balance between providing the best service possible while keeping the health and safety of our staff as our number one priority, whilst also adapting to changing guidance and direction as well as customer expectations.
I hope you managed to enjoy your trip despite not being able to access the support of the iCentre network, and would like to thank you for taking the time to share honest feedback on your experience with us.

John was a wealth of information and super helpful! My friend and I were on the search for Highland cows and he had great suggestions where to find them. Great place to get recommendations on what to do in Ullapool and surrounding area. Great hours of operation.

What a fabulous tourist information office. The staff there (two young ladies) were incredibly helpful and patient assisting us with how to book tickets for Urquhart Castle - as we discovered advance bookings are needed during the COVID-19 crisis.

Got a fantastic friendly welcome and our dog got even more attention.
Great recommendations for local walks and timings and difficultly levels of walks were spot on.
Before we left to carry on our road trip we popped in for further recommendations of sites and beautiful beaches.
Scottish hospitality at its best and well versed with tailor made recommendations that fitted our requirements to a tee.
Guys, you do yourselves and Scotland proud.

1) I love a pun
2) I'm always grateful to anyone who takes the time to share their experience
3) This is such a fantastic review to summarise the fantastic team we have in Ullapool and the fantastic service they provide
4) I love dogs, and any customer that brings a dog in to speak to us automatically becomes my favourite customer of the day!

ALL Buildings ARE Well Situated And ALL HAVE Good Parking. Great Home Cooked Food And A Very Nice View When Sitting Down To Eat a Meal Or An Ice Cold Bevy or Two. Good Fuel Price At The Garage, (But PLEASE Spend Your Money at a Local Shop Further in Town Village).

We obtained good information at the VisitScotland center in Ullapool.
We were there multiple times to find out about hikes in the area, including how to get to them by public bus. All the people we talked with were helpful and knowledgeable.
When we decided to go over to Lewis Island, John helped us find accommodation in Stornoway and booked our bus trip (to connect with the ferry from Stornoway) from Ullapool back to Edinburgh on the following Sunday. This was all good, except that the ferry back to Ullapool wasn't scheduled to run that Sunday morning......see our review of the tourist center in Stornoway to hear more...

Thank you very much for your review on our VisitScotland Information Centre in Ullapool - I do hope you enjoyed your walks in the area!
Thank you too for tying up your reviews of both our Centres in Ullapool and Stornoway! Unfortunately, sometimes the ferry company have to cancel scheduled services, usually due to weather conditions. Thankfully Bev in Stornoway was able to rearrange your travel plans and we all trust your onward travel from Ullapool went smoothly without any further problems.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Highlands and Islands again very soon!
